We stayed at this hotel for a week at the start of July 2014 and were very, very impressed - we didn't want to leave and would recommend it to anyone. Being adults only, the hotel has a really relaxed, quiet feeling with no children tearing around and makes for a great base for a lovely holiday.
Staff - All the staff we spoke to were exceptionally helpful and spoke decent English which was just as well as our Greek was a little lacking! The reception staff were very friendly and helped us arrange hire cars and excursions, booking them on our behalf. We were met in person by the hotel manager when we checked in who gave us a tour when we arrived. The waiting staff are all very attentive and the cleaning staff very efficient too, all in all the staff seemed to enjoy working at the hotel as much as the guests enjoyed staying there.
Room - We were in 219 which overlooks the swimming pool from the second floor. It was a good size and had air conditioning which worked very well. The bathroom was well equipped and the balcony has a fantastic view out over the bay from which you can watch ships roll in and out of the bay. The beds were comfy and other than my (alleged) snoring, there were no noise complaints.
Facilities - The pool is lovely and allows you to float around as you watch over the town centre down below, there are plenty of sunbeds and you can dine either out on the patio or inside. There's lots of parking and whilst we didn't use them, you can also play tennis at the hotel's own court. On Tuesdays they had a Greek night with musicians and dancers - wear something light as you WILL be compelled to join in at some point!
Location - The hotel is at most a 15 minute walk from Zakynthos Town Centre, we walked down the hill each time we went there to eat or wonder around the harbour staring at the yachts. There's a shop at the end of the hotel's drive and within about a 10 minute walk from the hotel you can reach two vantage points giving you different views down over the town (left out the drive, across at the crossroad and up the hill or instead, right and follow the red and yellow 'panorama' signs). It's about 15 minutes drive from the airport which was great, no issue with noise from the planes though.
Food - You can eat like a horse if you wish or keep it healthy. We went all inclusive, breakfast offers cereals, toast, cooked breakfast items, fruit etc whilst dinner offers all sorts including Greek salads, beef, chicken, bread etc. We didn't end up getting lunch at the hotel so can't say what it's like as we were always out, all in all the food was really good though. Only negative comment I'd make is that with my girlfriend being a strict vegetarian, she'd have preferred for the vegetarian options to have been marked as such as it wasn't always clear and sometimes it appeared the same utensils were used for meat and veggie options - I think this is something common to the region rather than just this hotel mind.
All in all, fantastic and the hotel feels like it should have much more stars than the three it claims - brilliant stay and we'd like to go back soon!
