Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel and my god what a place, The hotel itself is amazing the views the service the staff, Everything met our expectations and went beyond. Very short transfer from the Airport to the hotel we'd prebooked our transfer however i would imagine it'd be around 15 euro in a taxi if that, The hotel is on a hill however the surrounds are all flat so no worried there for anyone with walking difficulties. Upon arrival at the hotel we were quickly checked in we'd booked all inclusive but didn't did presented with any wristband which was a bonus we were given a short tour of the hotel whilst they took our bags to our room for us. The views from the outside patio are amazing and you can sit out and enjoy your breakfast, dinner and evening meal just taking in the spectacular views whilst sipping on your favourite cocktail all included in the all inclusinve deal (i've been to hotels where cocktails have been chargable).
The hotel provide free hire of beach towels for the pool and you can collect these from reception no deposits just ask and they are given. The swimming pool is an infinity pool you can again swim to the edge and enjoy the amazing views overlooking Zante town.
The hotel is fairly new and hasn't been open very long so a few things are still in the process of being finished off like the jacuzzi pool etc but it doesn't matter it didn't spoil our stay no works were happening whilst we were there!
The pool area gets rather busy and sunbeds are reserved very fast however theres ample space for you to grab someone to soak up the sun.
The food was a little bit random from day to day but there was something for everyone we didn't go hungry thats for sure.
Every Tuesday there is a 'Greek' night when you have a guy singing and a few greek dancers to entertain you however this is the only entertainment but once your sat outside enjoying a few drinks etc you soon get chatting to our residents.
We had an amazing week here celebrating our wedding anniversary it was so lovely i can see why they are voted top hotel in the area. It costs around 7 euro to get from the hotel to the middle of zante town Solomas Sq which is best visited at night rather in the day if you time it right the hotel offer a free minibus service 4 times a day to the town and twice a day trip to tvsilli beach (sorry cant spell it).
Love this hotel can't believe it's only 3 star when it's all completed i'd imagine it'll be up there with the 5 star hotels.
The Staff need a special mention they never stop working they serve on you hand and foot not what i would have expected at all i'm not fussed about having to go to the bar for a drink but they do waitress service. Reception were very very friendly and helpful and were only too eager to answer any questions or book excursions and taxis.
Well done Aquis Avalon we can't wait to come back

Room Tip: Get a see view and a high floor Get up early to get your sunbed!

After a 1am get up to arrive at the hotel at 11am the last thing you want is a long wait to check in. Our travel agent quoted 2pm so fair enough we waited until then, all the while newer arrivals were getting a welcome drink and being roomed. After several relatively calm requests about our room we eventually gave in at 7pm and when my anger and Trip Advisor was finally mentioned the owner came and gave us a free upgrade to a sea view room for the inconvenience. Full of apologies for the miscommunication between their staff, we settled into a room with a theatre-stalls like small sea view balcony.

The remainder of the All Inclusive 7 night stay was pure relaxation. The cold fresh water infinity style pool was a welcome relief from the heat when the wind stopped blowing. The views from the hotel, the pool and the outside part of the restaurant are breathtaking and it is the hotel's signature.

The hotel is in its first season and are honest enough to say it is good when it's full (as it was for three of our days) as they can find out the real problems they face. These in my opinion are:-

1. Lack of sun beds and even more so of parasols.
2. Poor food for any vegetarian or vegan (meat in salads on most occasions).
3. Some minor issues with electrical connections (our balcony light was controlled by next door).
4. Lack of floor mopping.

All in all minor issues compared to the positives:-

1. Amazing staff. Especially the day time bar man, Costas, and the waiting team. Vivian and Costas especially. They work incredibly hard and with a smile of genuine sincerity.
2. Food as a meat eater is good. Especially if you like belly pork. Yum.
3. Local drinks on all inclusive were really good and included cocktails (although basic and limited variety, none with Gin though)
4. As mentioned... The views.
5. Excellent complimentary shuttle bus.
6. Lovely pool. When rooms with private pools and the separate jacuzzi pool are finished the pool areas will be excellent.
7. Adult only! As teachers it is important to avoid the shrieking and manic play of kids for a few weeks. This was DEFINITELY achieved!
8. Close to the airport and main harbour town, for lovely meals and drinks out and where excursions go from (see below).

The hotel provides a free gift upon checking out and again the staff are lovely.

Overall the hotel managed to turn a terrible review into a good to very good (erring on the latter).

Excursions. Being there for a week we went to the beach one day and town one evening, but speaking to others here are some thoughts:-

Tsivili Beach. Free shuttle but not that impressive. Lots of water sports but also lots of beach traders. 10 x requests for a Chinese massage ! A little to see with regards to snorkelling but not a huge variety. A nice cheap Greek style restaurant just up the main road out of beach area, past the very British Moby Dick pub.

Harbour Town. Go to book excursions and eat at night. Although they will try to drag you in it's not as bad as Rhodes!

Island cruises. Most thought a day was a waste, half day ideal.

Cave cruise. This was popular for 2.5 hours. Turtles swam along side the boat and you were allowed to swim in crystal clear turquoise waters.

Turtle hatching beach. Would loved to have gone had we stayed longer.

In summary, the island is ok for 7 - 10 days and the hotel is still in its infancy, selling itself on its wonderful views and staff, with lots to develop. It will get there and will be even more of a gem but it will take time and the prices will no doubt go up. 3 star is about right for now but can see it becoming 4 star in a year or so.

We arrive home suitably rejuvenated!

Room Tip: Sea view, if you can get one. Pay before you go as it is currently fully booked and likely to remain...

First of all the very good things.........I have stayed in many hotels across the world but the greeting that the staff gave you here was up there with the best. Extremely polite - did all they possibly could at all times. The waiters and bar staff were incredibly good at their jobs - and they could not do anymore to make your stay any better

Hotel and facilities - The view was amazing - definitely worth staying in a sea view room as the view from the land side would not have been much of a spectacle. The swimming pool was very clean and a really nice temperature. The sunbeds were not the best however and they did hurt to lie on at times

There were regular buses to and from both nearby towns and the driver would always stop and pick you up if he passed you

The drinks were very good if you like alcohol - massive range of cocktails that were better prepared than the ones in any bar in nearby towns. The beers was spot on and the soft drinks - fresh fruit juice, cold water all day were perfect.

The not so good bits....... The room was very basic. In all honesty I have never stayed in a room with such basic facilities. The bed was very uncomfortable and I believe they only have twins pushed together which slide apart and I did not have one good nights sleep on them

The shower and bath were basic - not what you would expect from a hotel that was given 9.1 on Booking.com

The food was where I feel the hotel was most dissappointing. We had an ok first meal of freshly prepared salad and fresh fish. Unfortuantely that was where it ended. The breakfast was very basis - very fatty bacon, egg that was badly prepared and one toaster for the whole hotel..... Lunch was always much the same - variety of rotating salad dishes - some average some really quite bad and dinner was much the same. Always fresh fruit which was a saviour. We actually ended up eating out most nights due to the food not being what I would choose to eat on holiday nor encourage others to do so....

As a summary - lovely hotel (be better when it is finished), amazing service, most friendly staff you could imagine. Food poor, drink options amazing!!! View were lovely and close enough to everything if you want to explore - Zakynthos town etc

Would happily go back but would not go All Inclusive if the food remained the same - as it would not be worth it as we would eat out every night

We went for one week and our experience was very good. The hotel in July 2014 has only been open 3 months and it is still undergoing some refurbishment. From arrival to departure the staff could not have been any more attentive although they do need more particularly on a Tuesday evening when they host the "Greek night".
The views are amazing and worth every penny to have a sea view room. We never tired of the stunning sea view.
Being an fault only hotel be prepared for the pool area being very quiet, some did not like. We personally did not have an issue and took a small speaker to play some music for us just to hear which we enjoyed with offending others. Did not miss the traditional pool games, dances by pool we have had before.
As this hotel is still in its infancy a few simple things would go along way :-
1. More sunbeds, there are only 50. If you get up before 9 then you were sure to get one. They is more than ample room around pool area to accommodate.
2. Label food on offer on off er at lunch and evening meal times
3. Chiller cabinets to store the food during meal times, there is salads, yoghurts and fruit which would all benefit from this facility.
4. You are given a bottle of wine on check out, although a lovely gesture, at the point you are given you are about to leave. To perhaps be left in room on arrival to enjoy on the balcony would be better and more practical.

We believe in a couple of years once they have brought in some more money, finished the suites on the 4th floor and the plunge pool rooms this will be cracking hotel. The rooms are very clean, tidy and simply decorated. Beds and towels changed daily with exception of Saturday.

We really struggled as did many others with the free wifi offered to the point we stopped trying.

A special mention for Vivienne, Kosta and Denise whom made our holiday a lovely one. We will return. Thank you.

Room Tip: A sea view room is a must!!

Stayed here with my husband for a relaxing holiday and that is just what we had. The views are stunning. The hotel is beautiful Our room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily. We had a mountain view. Which was nice but would have a pool view on our next visit. The food I think needs a bit more of a variety, although what was there was nice. The staff are really helpfull, a special thanks to costas and vivienne they were great, couldn't do enough for you. They have greek dancers once a week for entertainment a bbq once a week would be good. The free shuttle bus was handy to go to zante town and tsivill beach. Would definitely stay again. This new or newly refurbished hotel, not sure, is set on a hilltop overlooking Zante town and harbour, stunning views from sea facing rooms, terrace and pool area.

Stayed on an all inclusive basis which I would advise as other guests on half board found it expensive for drinks.

Rooms are of a very good standard, comfortable twin beds pushed together to make double, fresh towels every day. Fridge in room handy for cold drinks and safety box available at extra charge. Let down a little by maid not cleaning properly, just the basics, made the beds, replaced the towels and emptied bathroom bin. No dusting, sweeping floor or thoroughly cleaning bathroom.

The infinity pool has stunning views and on our visit the sunbeds were plentiful although when the hotel is full they may be in short supply. Free towels available from reception for the pool area.

The only advertised features not usable were the tennis and mini golf, half finished tennis court and just holes in the ground is their idea of mini golf. You can tell that this property has been rushed to get open as it has quite a few small but noticeable poor finishes to the rooms and public areas but I am being a bit picky here as this will not detract from what will be a good stay.

The food at every meal is buffet style and was always of a good/very good standard although they do need to vary it a bit more especially the deserts, same on four days lunch and dinner at our stay. The A.I. drinks, which included wine, beer and all cocktails made with local alcohol, finish at 11pm but this is a very quiet adults only hotel where most guests would have already retired to their rooms by then.
The hotel does provide a free shuttle to Zante town about 9.30pm if you want a later night as well as a few times throughout the day, also daily to Tsilivi beach. Taxi to the hotel from Zante town about 6 euro’s if you cant manage the uphill walk, average fitness will suffice.

This 3 star hotel is deserving of a fourth star when completely finished, perhaps now even, and the family who run it are working hard to achieve this, aided by a pleasant and hard working staff.

This was my first experience of A.I. and adults only and was pleasantly surprised as I think we had very good value for money on our weeks stay.

Sleep quality was very good, a very peaceful location.

Overall I would give this accommodation a very high recommendation for a weeks stay.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for sea view

Honestly, sometimes it's difficult to decide, whether the hotel should be rated as Very good or Excellent. This is exactly the point. There are excellent things, but some can be better as well.
Start with the location. The hotel is definitely worth chosing, if you're a couple as it was filled only by couples. The reason is simple - stunning views over the Zakynthos Town. The hotel lies on a hill and therefore very quiet. Also the personnel is very kind, services such as wi-fi connection, towels for pool area, cleaning of the rooms and wonderful transport services downtown or to Tsilivi beach, arguably the best on the island... And meeting the owners at the first day of the stay was incredible polite.
What can be better is the room. It is air-condition which works well, the bed was very well. However - there are only 5 channels in the TV and the first programmes in English starts at 10 p.m. Also the bathroom might be a bit better. The biggest disappointment was the food, where there's the biggest gap between Avalon and Excellent. It's good, but not excellent.
Finally, my recommendation - go there. You'll enjoy the entire stay. .

Room Tip: The mountain view is a bit more chilly and you can have a look over a great sunset. This you'll...
