We just spent two great weeks at the Arkadia Hotel. Angelos, Mary and Corina were perfect hosts, thanks guys! The hotel is situated about 2.5km from Tsilivi in a quiet location. There is a nice (grass) beach within easy walking distance of the hotel and you can get drinks and ice creams. The Vardolia restaurant above the beach serves excellent lunch and evening meals. The welcome was warm at the hotel, the food was great (Thanks Mary) and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Rent a car (Angelos will arrange) and see the island, the blue caves are amazing and ship wreck cove is stunning if you like heights! Great holiday!

Room Tip: All rooms are great with air conditioning

We are back home now after spending 2 glorious weeks at the Arkadia Hotel, Kipseli. We actually had our wedding ceremony at the Vardiola Taverna, just down the road, and it was a perfect hotel to prepare for your wedding in- our family all had rooms near each other- can highly recommend the extra money for the deluxe or jacuzzi suites as the balconies and views are wonderful, but EVERY room has a balcony so there is no worries if not!)
From the moment we arrived at a very early 5.30am we were made to feel as if the hotel was a home from home and nothing we asked for was too much. Angelos, a true gentleman, his lovely wife Maria, their wonderful daughters and lovely Corina, run this as a family hotel and work so hard to ensure their guests comfort that we want to recommend this hotel as the BEST on Zakynthos compared to what we have seen and read about elsewhere- and yes, we did spend a night in Lesante Spa hotel- lovely too but no match for Arkadia as a base for a family holiday with a clean, amazingly designed beautiful hotel with such friendly, helpful people. The food, cooked by Maria is wonderful, with a modern rustic feel and my kids adored the spaghetti bolognese! I loved the fish! If you are lucky enough to have birthday there and order a cake - it will blow you away with deliciousness!! BBQ night with the Greek dancing is another highlight- I could go on all day about this place! The car hire was great and useful to explore the rest of the wonders of Zakynthos.( can recommend Alykes beach and the family friendly beach bars there only 10 mins away) In a nutshell, unspoilt, beautiful, family friendly, unforgettable!!!!! Cannot wait to return one day!!
If you are in any doubt, dont

Room Tip: Deluxe and jacuzzi worth the money- also half board excellant!

We literally just left Arkadia. Our family can't say enough but thank you to Agelo and Mary as well as Corina. Being from the US and a newbie to Zakynthos we didn't know where to start.where to go.or what to do.

When we pulled into the hotel all our fear subsided. The hotel was just what we were looking for. Yes it is away from Zante town but to experience Greece that is ideal for us and what we wanted.

The hotel was spotless. The smiles on faces each day was warm..the friendliness was perfect. A Wednesday night BBQ PERFECT. A great way to experience true Zakynthos.

The room. Was perfect for the 5 of us. The pool was just what we needed.

We left for Shipwreck Beach..blue Caves..Laganas and each day our return was greater with a welcoming hello..smile..and conversation.

Our nightly stop at the bar was a great way to end each day..again Agelo..Mary and Corina were on hand.

If and when we come back..Arkadia will be our stay of choice! If someone asks for suggestions...Arkadia it will be

Thank you!

We decided to stay here rather than in some of the nearby villages as we only had a short amount of time and for us it was mostly about getting to see Shipwreck beach. The hotel is in a very quiet location which was great. Rooms were big and very clean. The breakfast was better than I expected and they actually had a small selection of fruit which was great. Breakfast was from 8.30 which, was a bit late - we wanted to get going and make the most of our day - 8am would have been better. The room had a kitchenette which was handy, however, nothing to wipe down a bench or clean any bowls /cups which was annoying. Although they said there was wifi throughout, we could rarely get it to work in our room, but it was ok in the lobby and outside around the pool. The owner was very friendly and tried really hard to meet guests needs. The hotel met our needs and there was nothing wrong with the hotel, but not sure if I would stay there again.

As per the title, really. We stayed here as a family of four in a room with a double and two single beds. The room also had a small kitchen area which was useful as it had a fridge etc. The bathroom though modern was showing distinct signs of wear and tear. The air conditioning unit in the main bedroom area was rather delapidated and the control knob was snapped off. Generally the hotel itself is OK but we found that in the very warm weather the owner kept all the doors open on the groundfloor and the air conditioning switched off, probably to save electricity but it meant the ground floor area was roasting hot and offered no relief from the heat outside. The breakfasts were OK but nothing special to write home about. We did eat in the hotel on an evening on a few occaisions and the portions were very generous if not of the highest quality food. Probably the thing that annoyed me the most about the hotel was the non stop music blaring out from the bar area that could be heard all over the hotel. Since they appeared to have a small collection of music it soon became repetative and annoying. The pool and the pool area were very nice but not a lot of shade available from the heat of the day. Finally, the location of the hotel, it is fairly remote with very little in the way of facilities within walking distance and there's no beach to speak of. So, that's it really, as I said, a bit of a curate's egg this one. Good in parts.
