“Spacious beautiful cabins in a beautiful location!”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The cabins are beautiful. Very spacious with high end amenities and a refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave in the room. They also had tea which is a welcome addition for the non-coffee drinker. Front porch is cozy to sit on in the evening and read a book. The views of the Badlands are stunning as you are in the heart of the Badlands. Beds are comfortable and cabins are very clean.
Highly recommended!

We stayed in the rustic styled cabins in Badlands National Park. We had porches on the front and back of the freestanding cabin. Everything looked brand new (but rustic) and beautiful. The cabin was spacious and functional with lovely scenery.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here and LOVED it! Can't say enough about how impressed we were with the roomy "cabins" because they're lovely inside with all the natural woodwork and high end linens and amenities. AC worked great and there was Wi Fi. Everything was clean and well cared for. You get a free bag of ice to use, and there's a fridge, coffee maker and microwave in the room. The bed was very comfortable. The best part is sitting out on the porch, looking up at the mountains. We couldn't get enough of the view, and watched a variety of birds and wild rabbits. Be sure to ask for a cabin in the row directly facing the mountains ("Wall"), and if possible a single unit. Ours was a duplex, and when people closed doors next to us you could hear them slam. We also had a unit for handicapped accommodation, so the bathroom mirror was set really low.
No meals are provided, but there is a small store and restaurant onsite, and we had one meal which was good. A park "welcome center" is walking distance from the cabins, and the location is central to sightseeing in the park.
If ever visiting the Badlands again, we would definitely stay at Cedar Pass Lodge. It was wonderful!

Room Tip: Ask for a unit closest to the mountain range, and if possible a single unit/not a duplex.

The new cabins are lovely, spacious, comfortable and perfect. Beds are very comfy. Cabins are clean and beautiful. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch and relaxing. Some cabins have back porch - they seem to be the most desirable, we were not lucky enough to score one of those, hopefully next time. We love the badlands and are so happy to have these great new cabins as a lodging option. We ate in the lodge and the food was very good (better than I remember from previous visits).

Our one night in the cabin at Cedar Pass was great. The new cabins, made of pine logs, fit right in at the Badlands. The cabins are situated so that you have a view of the mountains from your front or back porch. We had a 2-queen cabin that had both front and back porches. Not all cabins had these. Having coffee (coffee pot in room) in the morning on the porch, watching the sun bring out different colors in the rocks, was a highlight. Having read that the cafe was not great, we made sure to stock up on groceries in a larger town before we arrived. This location is quite desolate, which was fine with us. As long as you don't mind eating from your cooler and you prefer scenery over convenience, you will love it here. In hindsight, we wish we had stayed two nights.

Great locations right in the center of the Badlands. Quaint cabins, roomy, clean, and unbelievable views. The cabins are very close to their restaurant and gift shop. Food was very good, service a bit slow but very friendly staff, Was very pleased overall.

The cabins are in the midst of the Badlands National Park and near other attractions (Wall Drug, Minute Man Missile Site). These cabins are new and in great shape with pine interiors. Lots of fun to be in the middle of all that empty space of the park and be close to the Badlands as evening falls and few people are around. The wind can be very strong there but no noise problems. Not luxury but very comfortable.
