Probably the nicest hike in the park, and probably the most crowded as well. But just like at the Grand Canyon, all we needed to do was to walk a few hundred yards to find solitude. Grand View Point Overlook has the ideal combination of a central gathering place where people can look at fabulous vistas without taking many steps, and a marvelous one mile hike, almost flat, where more and more vistas can be experienced in all directions. At one point, the terminus, we found ourselves surrounded by shockingly deep drop offs and heavenly views at sky level. This was even more of an island in the sky than the Island in the Sky lookout at the beginning of the park. Along the path, there were rocks to climb and sit on, some definitely not for those fearing heights, for memorable, if not once in a lifetime photo.
