“Perfect peaceful location close to Crater Lake National Park”

The crooked creek behind the house, with canoes and paddles are a fantastic invitation. Kitchen stocked will everything you need, friendly owners and perfect sunsets. Ideal to get off the grid for a couple days - no phone, no wifi. Just pure air, water, cows and horses. Horseback riding 2 miles away with very friendly owners, happy to see tourists and talk about the world. Recipe for a perfect evening : after a day hiking in Crater Lakes, buy grass fed beef in Klamath Falls, cook it in bacon fat, have dinner outside next to the creek, looking at the sunset with a good bottle of local red wine.

“Lots of pluses but a bit overpriced”

pluses:

“Cabin” structure is cinder block. I believe this accounts for the very pleasant temperature modulation around the clock. When we arrived (late afternoon) many of the windows were open slightly and the temperature inside was quite comfortable (distinctly cooler than outside). So we decided not to adjust any of the windows during our stay. Daytime highs were around 90 (with very low humidity), while the night time lows were around 50. The cabin remained quite comfortable around the clock—sleeping was comfortable with only a sheet and even in the heat of the day the air inside reached only around 74. Very nice!

The kitchen is very well stocked with cookware, etc. Good assortment of spices and such so you don’t need to worry about stocking that stuff.

King-sized bed in master bedroom is very comfortable.

Cabin has water front on Crooked Creek, which is a nice spring stream. Canoes are available for use and running up and down the creek is fun for an hour or two.

Wonderful big Ponderosa pines surround the cabin, as well as nice aspens. Very pleasant to sit outside

minuses:

Shower stall is the narrowest I have ever been in. Fine as long as you never need to bend over to pick up soap (or whatever), in which case you will find the only way to reach the floor is by doing a deep knee bend. (The rest of the bathroom is entirely adequate.)

There is no WiFi, or television reception (antenna or cable). Just a TV with a combo VCR and DVD player, and an assortment of (mostly action) videos. The owners suggest that internet via your cell phone (Verizon) is available—we have Verizon phones but not smart ones so we were in the dark the entire visit. Whether this type of internet would be viable I don’t know, as our cell phones were barely able to make or receive calls anyway.

The only reading material in the cabin is tourist info. Without any access to the outside world via internet or TV, it would have been nice to at least have some novels or other reading material available.

Cabin is right next to highway which is paved with very coarse (and therefore LOUD) asphalt.

Bottom line: We very much enjoyed our stay but we felt the place was overpriced given the minuses.

“Comfortable cozy cabin on the creek”

Comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen with things like coffee, filters and spices. Lovely setting by the creek with cows in the pasture beyond and dramatic cliffs across the highway. Bath had everything we needed. Keep in mind that there is very weak Verizon cell service in the Crater Lake area, and this cabin is no different, since it does not have wifi. Don't expect to do anything with data from there. Also, a few of the windows in the living room (not the bedroom) have curtains that don't quite cover the entire window. It's near the highway so you might hear some traffic but there isn't much of it, especially late at night. We had no trouble sleeping. Even with the bedroom windows closed, we were cool enough in the middle of summer. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions I had prior to our arrival. We had a good breakfast at Table Jo's, run by a man and his daughter who were very friendly. It's in Chiloquin about 10 miles northeast of the cabin.

“Great Get-Away Stay!”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Last minute get-away for our 11th yr. anniversary. The peacefulness and sunsets made it perfect from the back deck! Good location, just a short drive to Crater Lake. The little cabin was perfect for getting off the grid and recharging. Only down side was the shower, very little water pressure and very small. The sunsets and location made up for it!

Very convenient to crater lake. Beautiful surroundings - wonderful creek with a bridge over it, old barn, cow pastures surrounding. As night falls you may be treated to a visit from winged wildlife. Cozy cabin has a "grandma's house" vibe complete with quilt and afghan on the beds.

“Cute Cabin in the Woods”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

After staying in several hotels, this was a refreshing change!

The owners were very nice on the phone and left the key for us. The cabin was surpisingly spacious. A full kitchen and fridge, a king bed in the main bedroom and 2 twins in the extra bedroom. Perfect for us. There was a deck on the back and a pond behind the deck. There were canoes in the pond, I assume you could use them but went onto Crater Lake so I do not know for sure.

The house was very clean except for the bathroom shower curtain, which was moldy - needs to be changed. The shower is very small as well - It was so small that my 6' teenager hit his head in the shower when he sneezed. (Seriously)

No Wifi and ATT had no phone service but our Verizon phone had service. They had a VCR and Movies and lots of games and books for guests to use.

Cute little neat place to stay if you are in the area!
