Owner description: Spectacularly rugged Death Valley mountains.

My wife and I cycled the Panamint Mountains....a gorgeous site. I do not recommend cycling this unless you're in good shape and workout in the mountains--it is quite difficult.

Thank Michael K

Challenging hikes and not easy to get to. But fantastic views of both Death Valley and the Sierras. A long drive into the Kilns, with the last two miles on a dirt road. If you want to go past the Kilns, you need four wheel drive.
Wildrose Peak is a great hike. The one up to Rogers Peak is even better.

Another geologic wonder of Death Valley. It's fun to follow the bands winding their way around the mountains.

Have lived in California over 30 years and never got out to Death Valley. Expected just desert. The highlight of my trip were the mountains. The view of Telescope peak dusted in snow from Panamint Springs was a real surprise. Enjoyed driving over Towne pass.

This is the main view from Furnace Creek. It amazed me - standing in the desert and looking at snow capped mountains! Photos come out great too.
