The wi-fi signal was weak, particularly during the evening hours when presumably others were using it. Our television made a buzzing noise, and I had to hit it every 5-10 minutes to get it to stop. The room was clean enough, but it was also a very ugly, depressing place to stay.

We knew this was budget accommodations, but our expectation was simply that the room would be small and the linens and furniture would be nothing fancy. Even at a cheap motel, we expect that whatever technology is included should operate as intended, at least if it is being marketed on the place's website.

That said, the location was more than good enough. If you are going to spend a day in Denali on a bus, what difference is an extra 8 minutes in the car driving to the park?

Before staying here, you should have the right mindset, and if you have a similar attitude to mine towards travel, you'll enjoy this property. If you are used to staying in 4 stars or resort type properties, you should probably look somewhere else.

I like a good deal for my travel and this location does not dissapoint. It was 69$ a night, an exceptional price for this area, so i was excited even before arriving.
I am not willing to pay extra for fancy amenities that i would maybe not use, and when in this area, I was planning on spending my time in the park- not in the room, so i was just looking for a CLEAN place to sleep at night, and this place certainly fit the bill.

Property description
This is first of all an RV park - they have two small buildings that work as sort of a small rustic lodge type of accomodations, maybe a dozen rooms total
Those rooms are small and very spartan, you almost need to leave some bags in the car but my wife and i with a 5 year old managed with the room.
the property is about 7 miles from the tourist area at the entrance to national park, so it is much quieter.
It is only a few miles to the town of Healy, which is a cheaper alternative for some meals and provisions

PROS
rooms are clean
cheapest in the area
removed from the tourist trap area just outside teh park entrance
quiet
staff was super friendly - as were neighbors in the RV park
very affordable prices in their camp store compared to shops in the area - but choices are limited

CONS
small rooms
drive to park entrance (15 minutes)
somewhat isolated
wifi that was advertised did not work well at all in the lodge rooms

I had my doubts about this place but i was really shocked to see the kind of effort the owner has put to keep this place nice comfy and cozy. I would love to come back and stay here.

Booked the so called motel room in this mainly RV park over phone (no web booking) and later has a change of plan. Was told a they will charge a $30 cancellation fee (didn't recall hear that in the phone conversation, or the email sent from the owner's personal email after I REQUESTED them to do so). So, be aware before you making up your mind.

Low frill. Clean comfy rooms. Wifi. Nice location. No restaraunt, but perfect if you are only planning on sleeping there. 9 miles from Denali park entrance (10 minutes)
