We stayed here in early September, after having first discovered Carlo Creek Lodge on a prior trip in 2009.
If you don't mind a short (10-15 minute) drive to reach the entrance area to Denali NP and would rather not stay near the hustle and bustle and multitude of gift shops right north of the park entrance, we can't recommend this place more highly.
Both times we have stayed in the cabins w/o restrooms, but it's not an issue as the shower house has 4 restrooms and it's merely steps from your door. If you require a private restroom, they do have cabins with that setup as well - for a bit higher price.
The cabins are comfortable and appointed in a rustic fashion - with moose antlers serving as door handles. Cabins include a refrigerator which is nice for keeping your sack lunches fresh for the park tours as well as a cold beverage at the end of the day. Pay laundry facilities also on site.
Location is nice because there are a few restaurants within walking distance right across the highway (see reviews).
Cabins are also a great value, we paid about $86/night and that's well below what you'll find near the park entrance...and with much better surroundings (at least in our opinion).More
