“Loud, Crowded But Fun”

Do this.

Family style dining.. You're at a long table, somewhat crowded bench seat, food is in buckets, pans on the table, you pass your plate and someone puts food on it. Scrape bones, etc into a pot when done.

The food was surprisingly, very good, plentiful. Ribs, Salmon, corn, beans and berry cobbler.

At first, I was a bit disappointed because it was very loud; hyper.

The servers (later actors) were in costume and created a high energy cabin party atmosphere. But it was hard to have any conversation with people around you.

After dinner they do a show... The actors were excellent, very professional; music was very good; piano player was amazing with her range of standards.

So at first, what the.... but then "Glad we did this." We had fun.

“Campy but fun”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

The show was corny, but the singers were quite talented. We enjoyed the music, and the food was better than I expected. Finding our shuttle to leave was a little hectic, but we enjoyed the evening overall.

“Very entertaining with very good food!”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

My husband, two teenagers, and I went to the Denali Parks Resorts Alaska Cabin Nite dinner Theater in June 2013. The food was very good consisting of all-you-can-eat BBQ ribs, Salmon in dill sauce, baked beans, corn, homemade rolls, salad, and roasted potatoes. I especially like the salmon in dill sauce. The show was well done and fun for the whole family. The server for each table is also one of the performers. We used our Alaska Tour Saver Books and got a 2 for 1 deal.

“Loved the Show, Enjoyed the Food”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

We liked the Cabin Nite Theater from the moment the crew met us on the front porch welcoming us in with a song. The crew was friendly and kept our table full of food and drink. The ribs and salmon were delicious, and apparently the crisp was a favorite. There wasn't any of that left. When audience participation was required for the show, a man from our table was selected for the role. Never found out his real name, but he was a regular Tim Conway. He really made the show so much fun!

“Family fun”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

An entertaining dinner show. You sit at large picnic tables which seat 12, so will probably make new friends (as we did). The food, served family style, was very good and plentiful: all-you-could-eat salad, rolls, ribs, salmon, corn, beans, potatoes and to finish, an scrumptious berry cobbler with cream – mmm! There was iced tea and water on the table (beer and wine could be bought at the bar). The actors/singers help to serve the food and were very friendly; they made a special fuss of the children.

After reading some reviews I was expecting an amateurish show. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the professional talent on show. There was humour, a little audience participation and some lovely songs, and in be-tween, you learned quite a bit about the history of Denali. Yes, parts of it were corny and there were groans, but it was good old fashioned family entertainment and the staff went out of their way to make the evening a fun experience.

As a previous reviewer has said: If you don't like sitting with strangers, sampling some of the local food, or eat-ing family style, then this is not the activity for you,

Tip 1: We had bought an Alaska TourSaver book ($99) for a couple of other excursions and were delighted to find that Cabin Nite was in it – so we had all the fun for half the price!

Tip 2: Make sure you remember the mosquito spray for whist you’re waiting to go in – the little critters like to dine too!
