This north-west part of the NP was not that crowded and was really neat to see and enjoy. Most of the way is dirt road and last few miles were rough. Trails were bit longer along the lake but you can manage your hike and time. Good idea is kayaking on the lake to explore. You can find black bears doing bear stuff, friendly deer hanging around campsite close to lake and really beautiful scenery!

Nothing like going to Glacier and traveling to all the sites. We drive the whole time we are there, if we were younger we would hike but would miss all these wonderful rides!

We visited Bowman Lake while checking out the Polebridge Mercantile (amazing baked goods). The road there is narrow and rough, but the views are worth it! Wish we would have brought kayaks and remembered our bug spray. It was much quieter than the rest of Glacier Park, we appreciated that:)

Stunning views across the lake of snow-capped mountain peaks and forested hillsides. Lots of options for hiking and a very nice campsite.

After our stop in Polebridge at the mercantile (worth it for the pastries) we pushed up the road to Bowman lake. Absolutely stunning and worth the drive in every way.
