Verkamp's is a small visitor center on the South Rim, right near El Tovar, that has great information on the arrival of modern-day people to develop tourism at the Grand Canyon. The exhibit is organized chronologically and has information on the floor and the walls. It's a quick stop that gives you a good background on how the Canyon became such a tourist site.
