“Fabulous Tour!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

We extremely enjoyed our bike tour to Hermit's Rest. Hailey was loads of fun and a fantastic guide, who knows everything there is to know about the Grand Canyon. Robert our driver was very entertaining & made us laugh! We also did a mule ride which was expensive and not as informative - we much preferred the bikes. If your not planning on hiking to the bottom, cycling is the best way to see the rim of the Grand Canyon. Thoroughly recommended!

“Best way to see the Grand Canyon”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

When we planned our trip to the Grand Canyon we arranged to rent bikes from Bright Angel online - months in advance. When we arrived everything was ready to go without any hassles. All the employees were really friendly and helpful and after a short briefing they sent us on our way. Without knowing ahead of time we soon realized that this was the BEST way to see the Grand Canyon. We pedaled by lots of shuttle buses packed with people while we took our time and leisurely enjoyed our breathtaking, peaceful ride around the rim. We are frequent but not professional bike riders and found this to be a fairly easy ride on fairly nice bikes although if you aren't used to a higher elevation you may be overly fatigued after riding but totally worth it!!!

“Great way to tour the South Rim!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Breathtaking views and a very pleasant downhill ride allow you to really take in the beauty of this place. Our tour guide Haley has a genuine love for this place and shares her knowledge of it with enthusiasm. I would do this tour again for sure!

“Must, Must, Must Do!!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

What a great way to see other parts of Grand Canyon. Sure, you can drive, take a bus, hike or walk but I'm not sure why you would anymore.

A tour to Hermit's Rest lasted 3 hours and started and ended on a van to avoid a large hill and make it a one-way ride respectively. In-between, however, Hailey and Neoma led our group with safety as their number one concern while teaching us amazing facts that we never could have learned otherwise. These wonderful guides could answer answer any question, bonded with riders from 6 to 60 and would give you anything out of their backpack if it would make your experience better.

Ride along the rim of the Canyon. You will not be disappointed!

“Don't just sit on a bus, bike along the rim trail!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

While many people choose the guided bike trips offered by Bright Angel Bike Rentals, we chose to just go it on our own. The staff was great -- ensured that we wore helmets and had plenty of water and knew the rules of the road (depending on where you are on the rim, you either share the road with cars and busses or have your own greenway).

There's nothing like being out there, biking along in solitude, stopping whenever and wherever you want for as long as you want to picnic or take in the magnificent views. A lot of the people on the bus looked seriously envious of us -- of our freedom to experience the canyon on our own terms.

Biking at 7000 feet altitude is more taxing than doing the same ride at home. Even though, on the longest trip (the yellow trail is 21 miles round trip), there is only one significant incline (6 degrees doesn't sound like a lot til you do it on altitude tired legs). However, unless you're in pretty good cardiovascular shape, I'd probably opt for the shorter trails. By the time we were returning our bikes, 3 hours later, even the little tiny inclines were making me want to get off and walk a bit.

I can't recommend this highly enough. (Oh, and we are in our mid 50s -- so if WE can do it, so can you.)
