“Awesome Snake River Rafting Trip!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

During my stay in the Grand Tetons National Park, I joined Will and Jeff for a beautiful 2 hour float down the snake river. My brother-in-law, his three children, and my young cousin were also on board. There were four other adult guests.

From start to finish, Will and Jeff were friendly, entertaining, informative and safety conscious. Jeff took us all out in the van, assisted as Will talked us through proper safety procedures, and then met us at the end of the ride to collect gear and us. He has a great sense of humor, and he kept us chuckling on the way down and back.

Will was professional, a seasoned river guide, and full of interesting information about the region's history, geology, flora, and fauna. He has a very calm and easy manner. He took time to chat with each of us and learn a bit about our interests and stories. His tales of mountain guides on the Tetons and the murdered miners at Dead Man's Bar kept us captivated.

There were barely any rapids - which was exactly what I was looking for. I took my expensive camera, and it was completely safe and dry. I got a ton of great photos.

My brother-in-law and the kids all agree - this was a great way to spend an afternoon! Thanks Will and Jeff!

We were at Jackson Lake Lodge in early June. They had been open for two weeks, just starting various activities. We found the crowds low, staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. The shower curtain was brand new !
I can't imagine going mid-summer when the crowds are huge.
It is a peaceful lodge with attentive staff. Just advoid eating at the Pioneer Grill, service slow, food so-so.

Room Tip: Make sure you understand the location of your room....we were 1/4 mile from lodge. No problem for u...

Great location for activities within Grand Teton National Park. We stayed in a cottage with view. Very comfortable beds & clean room. View of mountains from room was amazing. Helpful staff. Within minutes of requesting a cot, there it was. Wake up calls were on time & from a staff member, not a recording. Overall would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get a cottage room with a view--it's worth the extra $

The view from the lodge was truly amazing. It was a great place to have a drink, unwind, and look for moose out the front. The pianist was incredible! However, the 'cabins' themselves are dated. We stayed 2 nights and the first night we could hear someone in the room next door snoring, and the second night we had to switch rooms just so that we could get WiFi. Even so, the connection was poor and it was difficult to get anything done. The food was also fairly pricey at the bar and not of good quality at the grill. Would highly recommend visiting the lodge but maybe it would be better staying somewhere else if possible, especially given the price (>$200/night).

Hello SageFrances007,

Thank you so much for posting about your recent stay with us on Trip Advisor. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the views from our main lodge building, being able to look out onto the Grand Tetons and Jackson Lake is surely a beautiful view.

I'm so sorry to hear that your experience was poor in our cottages. Our Director of IT is definitely working very hard to ensure that the WIFI connection in our cottages, which was just recently upgraded, is working as it's best capacity. Many other lodging properties in national parks do not offer WIFI, so it is definitely a point of pride for us, and a service that we're frequently upgrading to ensure it's operating at optimal performance.

Thank you so much for choosing Jackson Lake Lodge. I'm at your service if you'd ever like to stay with us again.

Kind Regards,

Elena Oxford

Wonderful view from the lobby. Try their bar for an outside drink in font of the Grand Tetons. Cabins are nice and comfortable. We stayed for 6 night and we would have stayed more if we could! Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

We stayed in a cabin. The pictures on their web site are very misleading. They make it look like the cabins have a nice view, but as far as I could tell, NONE of them had a view. If you want a view get a room in the lodge. The cabin was dirty, with hair all over the bathroom and sink. If you like to relax and watch tv at night, forget it. I don't know if the lodge has them, but the cabins don't. I was so very disappointed. Absolutely NOT worth the money.

We are staying at the Jackson lodge tonight (and unfortunately a second night tomorrow). We are in cabin 502 and are so very disappointed by the dirty dusty room, dirty coffee machine and cups and lack of view. We are paying over $260 per night and feel at this point robbed. The heating doesn't work properly, it's either full on so that you are boiling, or off and the room is freezing. This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip but unfortunately it is nothing of the kind. Such a pity, as a bit of care from the managers would help. We are writing this review out of frustration, when we really should be enjoying our well deserved holiday. Not sure where the people who have written the amazing reviews about this place have stayed at, surely not in any of the cabins.
