The most serene and peaceful place. All of the guides were very knowledgeable, intelligent, and caring individuals. They could work with different ability levels to make sure everyone had a wonderful time. The cabins were wonderful, the view was spectacular. This is the most wonderful place the really appreciate the beauty and nature that Alaska had to offer. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get out and experience and learn more about the area. Awesome views, wonderful guides, and staff made this our favorite place to visit and want to return to soon!!!

Room Tip: The cabins all have spectacular views!

Thank you Dawn C for such a thoughtful review! One of our principles is to ensure our guests enjoy their time with us "at their own pace." We intentionally provide enough well-trained staff to allow for small groups that travel at similar paces whether on foot, by kayak or even on a fishing trip. Its important to have your own unique experience here in Alaska, and we are glad you found that with us. We look forward to having you back again!

We were the first group of the guests of this season. We saw Dall’s porpoises, sea otters, puffins, and more on the way to the lodge. The view of Pederson Glacier from our cabin was magnificent. The Kayaking trip to Aialik Glacier was a live time experience, especially getting through those gigantic ice blocks. I have never imagined that we could have the opportunity to kayak and to eat lunch in front of Aialik Glacier. During the lunch break, all the four kayaks were tied together to gain the stability. We were surrounded by the countless ice blocks. With Aialik Glacier just in front of us, the view just took our breath away. On Monday morning, our trip to Abra Cove by Kayak was not smooth. Due to the high sea wave, we turned around the moment we reached half way. We also spent time hiking to the top of the ridge Monday afternoon. Over there, we had the best view of The Pedersen Glacier and lagoon. We did reach Abra Cove by Kayak next day. The cove is much bigger than seeing it from a distance. During our visit, the heavy rain made the water falls more magnificent. On the way back to Seward, we saw the entire humpback whale twice. The image of their signature gigantic tale is still very fresh.
The guides/managers/AWA President/chefs/other staffs are enthusiasm to let us experience the true Alaska. This lodge is a really eco-friendly facility. The trip did allow us to interact with the land of Alaska. It really exceeded every aspect of our expectation.

Room Tip: Only 16 cabins, so you can the best view from everyone one of them.

Great reflection on your kayaking experience at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge! It is true, these experiences really cannot be captured in even the best photographs - seeing the waterfalls in Abra Cove or the icebergs in Aialik Bay toward the glacier - watching the black bears or just taking in the magnificent glaciers and views. Nothing quite like it, and we are very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay!

Every wonderful thing previous posters have said is true. This place is a dream. My advice? Book now and stay as long as you can. Everyone who left after two nights was longing for more time. Even after three nights, I wanted more. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Cabin 10 is a little too close to public areas.

I have just spent two nights in this beautiful lodge. First of all the warm welcome from Mr. Jeff and his wife managing this place made me feel at home. The service is wonderful from all staff. .The place is out of any expectation; many activities to do provided by the lodge, each with a specialized guide. Sea, glaciers, landscape, bears etc et. Rooms are really nice, the food is excellent. It is for me one of the best place I visited in Alaska

Room Tip: all rooms are nice with view on the lagoon

Our family of four, including our teenager and tween, had a FANTASTIC time at this luxury lodge in the middle of the Alaskan wild. Some highlights of our trip included the boat ride to/from (4 hours coming and 2 1/2 going back) the lodge where we saw humpbacks, orcas, otters, sea lions, puffins, and glaciers up close & personal. The lodge & cabins were very luxurious considering you're so far from "civilization" and phone/internet service. Our family most enjoyed hiking up the ravine and to the glacier, kayaking in the lagoon where we had several encounters with black bears, harbor seals, and bald eagles, relaxing in the evenings on the porch in the rocking chairs, and spending quality family time together over a great meal & fun board games. The staff and guides are very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We highly recommend this trip for families with active tweens & teenagers, but NOT children under 10 years. We also recommend that you take the 4 hour train ride to/from Anchorage/Seward with all the beautiful scenery and delicious food (yes, surprisingly it was good).

This was such a fun review to read! We love hearing how families enjoy this beautiful lodge together, and experience wild Alaska in such a remote location. I hope your trip instilled a love for this great State, and that you'll all come back and visit us again over the years to come.

We visited in June with friends and had a wonderful time. On the boat ride there and back we saw lots of wildlife including breaching humpback whales, it was amazing. When we arrived at the lodge we were welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff and were stunned by the amazing views from the beginning and throughout our stay. There are lots of things to do at the lodge, we opted for a canoe trip around the lagoon and a short hike to Peterson glacier. Both trips were guided and the guides were wonderful. We also spent a lot of time sitting on the deck of either the main lodge or our cabin and admiring he incredible views. The food was also fantastic and the low environmental impact and attitude of the lodge is incredible. There really aren't enough words to describe how fantastic this place is and we can't recommend it enough.

We were the first 2013 guests in the Lodge - and were treated as royalty! The CEO hires the best staff and management is alert to giving the client - us - the best treatment possible, while lightly touching the environment. Pederson Glacier was the view outside our cabin windows; kayaking was a lifetime memory - exhilarating to cross over the ice fields from Aialik Glacier to Abra Cove Waterfalls with experienced guides; bear and red-throated loon sightings on our hikes; frequent eagle spottings; and the nature hikes with the knowledgeable guides made our trip an exceptional experience. Whales, harbor seals, sea otters, puffins, and so much more. Food was exceptional. We felt at one with nature, peaceful and very ready to book another trip. It was the end of our 3 week vacation and well worth every memory and penny.

Room Tip: Any room is good. Wear lots of layers to keep warm, take neoprene gloves, be ready for a great time...
