I thought the tram was a little pricy---20.00 to ride up and back. Views at the top are great, especially if it is a clear day. When we were there, there were many older people. Tram attendent up at the top was very friendly.

I went on a very clear & warm July day. Gondola ride to the top is great & the views are breath taking. Spend some time at the top & walk around, the view of Mt Rainier is the best. May be a nice place to take a picnic. Tip even in summer take a light jacket.

Crystal Mountain Resort has a lot to offer for summer visitors. We especially enjoyed taking the gondola to the top of the mountain and hiking down the trails. Definitely use the gondola to get to the top but be aware that the ticket is for 1 ride up and down. Our group did not understand the terms of the ticket and wanted to return to the top to enjoy lunch at the Summit House. The 2 women that run guest services kindly sent us back to the top on our original tickets. Thank you! The meal at Summit House was very tasty, and had large portions. My nephew rated their hot chocolate the best in the area.

By far the best option in the Seattle area. 2 hours from downtown and they offer the 'snow bus' which is a great deal. I believe it's $80 for the bus and pass (including gondola) or $30 for just the bus. A great option so you can sleep on the way there and way back. The lines for the lifts were never horrible while I was there and the snow was great.

We took a 3 day detour after Bumbershoot...and WHAT a great idea! The lodge and rooms were pretty much bare bones, but in a location like this who stays in their room! The lift to the top with awesome views of Ranier was incredible. Hiking the trails was fantastic as well. September is a perfect time for this. The entire set up is very close to the Bavarian alps in feel. If you like beer stop off and get some Session Lager at a local store... you cant get it in the Midwest or East. I love Washington.
