This is a short hike but a beautiful one around this pristine lake. Pictures you take from many angles are worthy of any outdoor advertisement, they are going to be just that beautiful!

Very easy stroll around the lake. Beautiful views! Definitely worth the stop. The parking lot was full by 7am but we were able to use the park and ride shuttle without a problem. Would not recommend using a stroller. Take a baby carrier if you have a little!

The parking lot at Bear Lake was already full at 10:30am on a Wednesday. The Ranger said its worth seeing (& it was!!) He suggested driving completely through the park & stop for lots pictures, have lunch in Grand Lake, then drive back through RMNP & hit Bear Lake on your way out. GREAT ADVISE !! By 4pm, the parking lot was half full. The views & wildlife were worth the time to get there

Easy trail. Pretty lake. Walked to nymph lake is was an uphill hike. I am not a hiker so I got winded but we made it. People said Sprague lake was worth the hike but it was getting late so we didn't go.

Bear Lake is only 250 feet’s from the parking lot.
You may need to park out side (depending on how busy that day), then take the shuttle to Bear Lake. There are 5 lakes, the other lakes take 1.8 or 2.2 miles hike. It was not easy for me due to thinner air and it was raining while I was there.
If you make it 1.8 miles, you will see three lakes, the highest lake in this hike is Emeral lake. Bear Lake is right there my the parking lot. Enjoy, you will not regret. Sweat a little, but once you got to the top, you have done it. Bring rain jacket, hats, water. Good walking shoes, not sleepers. Have fun all.
