This trail is so so for viewing the Sequoias. If you are only able to make an extremely easy walk, then this trail is fine for viewing the Sequoias. However, if you are planning on a trail such as the Congress Trail, don't waste your time here. It will be better spent elsewhere in the park.

“The Big Trees Trail: a wonder inside the wonder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

A short distance from the Giant Forest Visitor Centre, you can walk the Big Trees Trail, easy 1 Km loop (the other name used for it is in fact "Trail for all people"). We visited it at the end of a day in and around the Giant Forest, when it seemed that nothing more could surprise us.
In fact we had already walked the path that leads to Moro Rock (but not climbed on it); we had covered by car the road to Crescent Meadow, with all the sights that it allows (the Auto Log, the Tunnel Log, etc..) And then we had followed the whole of the interesting trail around the Crescent Meadow; we enjoyed the view of the General Sherman Tree; we even met a young bear on the trail, just a few steps away from us (right next to the Visitor Center)!
Yet the Big Trees Trail has added greatly to our awareness. The beauty of the Round Meadow, around which the trail runs, is enhanced by explanatory panels that allow you to realize the life of the Sequoias, the strengths and the weaknesses that the surrounding environment can bring them, the influence that changes in the climate have on their life. At the end of a day like ours, this outdoors lesson has further increased the enjoyment that the sight of these touching trees got us.
And finally, a small, fast, chubby animal has crossed our path, but not so fast as to prevent us to photograph it. We showed the picture to a ranger who was nearby, and so we learned that we had met a yellow-bellied marmot. The best way to end a memorable day....
