“Nice Stay”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

This campground gets sort of a bad rap. We stayed here for 7 days and had a pleasant stay. The owners are an asian couple who couldn't have been nicer to us. Our spot was under some very nice shade trees - yes there is not much grass in the parking areas however there are fire rings and picnic tables. We had full hook ups as well . We went down the street to check out the "Andy Guest " state park facilities. ALL of their sites are square gravel pads in the full sun and no trees. This was a former KOA faility and the road has been there a long time - it is thru the cow pasture but it was very pleasant because you are "in the country" . The pool was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The putt putt course needs to be ripped out. You are close to the town and Blue Ridge Parkway but when in the campground its quiet and peaceful. If you are looking for a 5 star - this is not it . If you are looking for peace, quiet and beautiful views - this is your place. We will stay here again !

....through the cow pasture and over the terrible roads. Narrow, narrow drive into it. Space is on a hump. Good thing it wasn't raining, what wi all the bare red dirt ground. Very little grass anywhere. They advertise free wi-fi but neglect to tell you it's only in the office down at the bottom of the hill. This is quite possibly the worst campground ever.

Didn't know how unkept until we went up the hill to park. Rain created a mud bog. Only good thing was the view. No maintenance noticeable. Did not enjoy the stay at all! Beautiful vistas..cows in pastures. Leaves turning colors did not balance rotten wood wood and nasty building

Well, i figured how bad can it be.. reserved spot by phone. Received no confirmation, called again and they said it is reserved. Once we arrived- no reaervation! They tried to move us to the back section- you eat above next spots septic drain. We said no way. The owners are very rude and the facilities were NASTY!!! Lessoned learned, never again. Luckily, we were able to get into Poe's campground. Very nice people and clean.

Very disappointed. Sites are extremely small. Grounds are run by husband and wife and they are not camper friendly. Water slide? No water slide? Mini golf? Yeah if you can find yor golf ball among the over grown ourselves. They sell items people left behind in their store. We were so disappointed we left. Of course no refund either.

My wife & I visited this site 7 years ago when it was run by KOA. We loved it back then & were waiting to the day we could come back. We finally returned and were severely disappointed. The water slide was overrun with vegetation. The fire pit for our site was 3/4 filled with ash, the hot tub was broken down and covered over with plywood, the playground equipment was run down and looked like it had dry rot. After 1 night we decided to head home although we paid for 2 nights. We are never coming back here again!

We booked for two nights with an 8 person party. We had two cabins, one of which the A/C did not work, both had cobwebs and smelled bad. The amenities that are listed on the website are not what is available. The bathrooms and showers were dirty and overrun by spiders. We stayed one night of our stay and left because of the conditions and the fact that the kids were not even enjoying themselves. We were told that we were not going to recieve a refund because we chose to leave. We have also reported them for false advertising with Good Sam and KOA.
