Our four person family stayed in one of the premium rooms at Big Meadows over the July 4th holiday. This is a lovely, quaint getaway to enjoy nature and "getting away". This rooms are rustic but are clean and well maintained. Mattresses could use an upgrade as our party did not sleep well on them in either of the queen sized beds in our room.
We dined at both the Lodge dining room and their Wayside along with nightly drinks and entertainment in the Tap Room. Food was a bit pricey for what you get and their menu is limited but everything was tasty and satisfying.
The barred owls that live must live there on premises were great to watch each night. Views from Blackrock Trail, just a short walk from the rooms are amazing.
Temps were rather cool for this time of year with nightly lows in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s, low 70s.
We've already planned our next trip up in a couple weeks for the Blackberry Festival at SkylandMore
