Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort
Reviewed 15 April 2010

My family vacation was to hike and explore Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon NAtional Park. The Ponderosa was very accomodating and helpful with our stay. It is perfectly situated between both parks. The resort has wonderful amenities which unfortunately we did not use because we were hiking in the parks but our stay was very comfortable and quiet.

We rented a condo type unit for our family of five. Although the unit seemed fairly new, both the water heater and room heater malfuntioned. The management quickly decided to replace them both, rather than attempt less costly repairs.

All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. This is a true resort offering activities on site for days not spent touring nearby Zion and Bryce National Parks.

Our oldest teenage son, who is nearly six feet tall, would have been more comfortable in a longer bed than the bunkbed he slept in. Otherwise, the unit was great.

The location is magnificent, the sites majestic, the staff (Don, Ken, Guy, Kourtney, Bryce, Anthony, Dennis, chefs and others) were genuine and helpful and made us feel as though we were staying with family. We thank the owners, management and staff for creating such a warm, wonderful and inviting atmosphere for our family. We will return!

As a reference some of the activities in which we participated: Horse back riding with wrangler Ken, Paintballing with Kourtney and Anthony, Skeet shooting with Anthony, ATV riding with Bryce and much more were on our list of "did that."

I brought my girl scout troop from Las Vegas to stay at Zion Ponderosa. We arrived after 11pm but there was a lady there to greet us anyway! We rented one "Cowboy Cabin" and one campsite. The campsite had nice trees that came in handy when the tent poles broke and we had to use the trees to hold up the tent's sides! Cabin was more than comfortable. It looked brand new and was quite clean. The roads leading to each cabin and campsite were in great condition! The bathroom facilities were all freshly painted (again looked new) and very clean. The pools definately had the feel of a true resort pools and had 2 really fun-looking slides built in. We ate 2 meals at their buffet and they were both tastey! We were bummed that we hadn't alotted more of our time in the Zion area at Zion Ponderosa. All of the girls were asking "when can we come back" as we left! The staff were very accomodating and friendly to our girls. I've recommended this location to other troops as well as a friend's church youth group. Great Place. Not one complaint.

This ranch has all kinds of lodging from small cabins to luxury resort homes. We stayed in their biggest resort house #742 with three other families, and it was fantastic. When we split the cost, it was cheaper than any of the other nice lodges or hotels in the area. The house looked like new. It was 6000 square feet with 7 bedrooms and 6 baths. Lots of bunk beds for all the kids, a private theater, foosball table, wet bar, the works. The resort was just on the east end of Zion National Park, and is close to Brianhead where we went skiiing, and Bryce Canyon where we visited. In the spring until fall they have all kinds of stuff to do like zip lines, mountain bike rides and good old fashion hay rides. I would keep coming back especially to the place we stayed in.

A really great place if you have a large group. Very beautiful and a lot of activities to do. The food was really great. We had our Thanksgiving there with 100 people in our extended family. Cabins close enough to one another you can walk if your in a group.

This resort/ranch has lodging from camping to luxury cabin and everything inbetween; so it fits any budget and vacation desire. From horse back riding, to deep tissue back massage, it has the activities and whatever rest desired also. You can bring your own food or eat at their offerings. This truly was the most varied and dynamic experience we have had recently. Our kids thought it was as fun as Disneyland. The staff completed the fabulous experience. They actually made the experience; their care for my kids, attention to detail, funloving help, good attitude; it made the experience. Besides what their was to do at the ranch/resort there are several natural wonders to see in close proximity. It was amazing. We had a great experience. They even have a web site that was truly indicitive of what they are and had to offer. It was a wonderful experience and a good value. We, adults and children alike, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
