Owner description: Angel's Landing is one of Zion's most spectular scenic outlooks; it can be reached only by a very demanding hike on the West Rim Trail.

This a hard hike but not terribly long. I stopped at Scout's landing with our 3 kids because the last stretch seemed too precarious for kids. If you only have time for this or the Narrows, I would do the Narrows although they are both amazing. Take plenty of water and take your time.

The most exciting Hiking Trail I have ever been on! I did not know we had risky trails like this available in the US. We had an amazing time and the views were INCREDIBLE! Trail to top is NOT meant for people afraid of heights or younger children, this is a serious climb if you go all the way!!! Last half mile is holding on to chain for your life!!!

Just look at all the pictures! -this is one of the greatest hikes of all time, and this is coming from one who loves to hike. It's not particularly difficult for someone moderately fit, considering it's only 5 miles round trip. And those 5 miles pack in a lot of scenery. The whole thing can be done in 3.5 hours at a leisurely pace, chains and all. It is, however, a bit scary once the chains begin. I think half the people see the chains and choose to go no further than Scout's Lookout. Which is fine, the scenery is still worth the hike to that point. Of course after that point is when it gets really fun.

I guess the only complaints people have, revolve around issues of crowds and heat. Solution: get up early and go in the morning!

Right from the beginning of the hike you can feel your sense of excitement rise along with the rise of the trail. Once you get to the top, after a steep hike using switchbacks, the short but thrilling walk to the Landings southern edge immediately shows itself to be a narrow path that will have you holding tight to the ropes and chains to allow passer by's returning, and to assist you forward...Both the the elderly and very young could have difficulties with this hike. For those who are able to complete the hike, the view is magnificent!! On a cautionary note this hike could be dangerous if rain and/or lightening is present!

A great hike but not for the faint of heart. they say that sit's a 4 hour hike but it can be easily done in 3. Kids should be supervised and it might be a little tough for seniors not in top shape. But the view is spectacular!
