We only had time for 1 day in zion. So we choose the Narrows to explore. It is several miles up and back, you can go as far as you want, but are constantly drawn to see what is around the next turn. It is a difficult walk up steam over round rocks. You want to wear shoes or sneakers at the least. You will also want a walking stick. We got broom handles at the local hardware store.
Great for a hot day as the river, and shade from the cliffs keep the trip cool. Bring snacks and drinking water, And zip lock bag over your camara, you may slip in.
We were the lucky first occupants of this beautiful cottage. We arrived 1 hour earlier than the check-in time but Rich allowed us in. This place is amazing, close to shops and only a 20 minute drive to Zion National Park. The house is very clean and comes complete with everything that you might need from bathroom necessities, laundry supplies, kitchen needs, even pancake mix for breakfast...as if you were at home. A big plus was that it was pet friendly and our dog was able to come with us. I highly recommend this place. Will stay again!
We spent several nights in this new vacation rental. We booked before it was finished, so we were a little afraid to book not seeing the finished product, any reviews etc. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a gem in the desert. It had everything you could want and then some. The beds are fantastic. The décor is simple, but had some nice pictures of the surrounding National Parks.
La Verkin is a great place to use as a home base to visit the parks. This place is off the main road and is very quiet.
They had just put in the landscaping in the front, so it was nice to see some grass and trees. The only drawback is that the back yard is still being worked on, but there is still a patio and barbecue back there with some patio furniture to sit in the early morning shade.
The kitchen is compact, but has everything you could ask for and more. They even had some pancake mix and butter for our breakfast.
It was really hot while we were here and the air condition worked wonderfully. Each room also had a ceiling fan which made things even nicer.
We were excited to see a washer and dryer there, and although we were not there long enough to use it, it would have really been handy for longer stays.
There is a great little grocery store only a couple blocks away and a fantastic little coffee shop on the way to Hurricane.
All in all this was a great experience. All of our communications were very professional and the keyless entry code let us check in late without having to meet up with anyone. We didn't have any pets with us but this home has no carpet making it perfect for your further furry friends.
We hope to come back again, and will definitely stay here.
