“Easy beautiful hike!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

The hike to Hidden Canyon is relatively easy and accessible. The trailhead is located at the Weeping Rock shuttle stop. The hike from the trailhead to the "Potholes," which are pools, is approximately one mile with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet.

There is a short rock climb to get to the top and then on to two natural arches. Hidden Canyon is one of the best hikes in Zion National Park. There are restroom facilities at the trailhead.

“A quick hike but little payoff”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

Hidden Canyon is that perfect length for a hike - not too long and not too short with a bit of incline. Unfortunately the trail description sounds more promising then it turns out to be. As soon as the trail ends you're presented with the opening of Hidden Canyon and if you choose, you can continue through the canyon a ways. Unfortunately, there's nothing really to see once you get past the end of the maintained trail. You will do some scrambling and climbing after the trail ends but there's not much to see. I'd consider doing other trails that provide a few or some interesting geological features.

“Cables at the Top”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

This is a very manageable hike and very comparable to Angel's landing for distance but the top is also very narrow with several cables to hold onto. There is a beautiful arch that awaits about 20 minutes from where the cables begin. Hike is very scenic.

“Great pre-Angel's Landing hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

Our family with kids 10-15 enjoyed this hike as a practice for Angel's landing. It has a rewarding surprise down the hidden canyon. The uphill is good training for the strenuous demands of Angel's Landing. It has an overlook to the right (Hidden Canyon to the left) once at the pools. This overlook is a beautiful destination. The hike can be accomplished in the afternoon sun. Though the switchbacks are hot, the canyon is very cool. A few parts of the trail have chains and drop-offs. None were too difficult but those with a fear of heights will have a preview of Angel's Landing style chain experiences. We enjoyed this hike for the fewer people and the hidden surprise in the canyon. It is a worthwhile experience and is at the same shuttle stop as Angel's Landing, the Grotto. The Grotto stop also has bathrooms and water and is one stop from the lodge. For ambitious hikers, doing Angel's Landing first in am and the Hidden canyon in the afternoon is doable. Bring a lunch and snacks to enjoy your hard work from beautiful views atop of both.

“Great views - great hike - safer than angels landing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014 via mobile

Ranger told us to hit this hike up, said it was his favorite and it did not disappoint. It's a great intermediate trail with some high drop offs- trail offers awesome views even if you don't trek past the end of the trail. Chains and narrow rocks with 200ft drops guide you up after the first mild climb up- that's when it gets fun. Must do- less crowded and safer than angels.
