“Like Staying in a Dream”

This buffalo preserve has beautiful, luxury cabins. The cabins have rain showers, air bubble tubs, and a kitchen facility. Most of all, we had a "buffalo view" room. We sat on our porch swing and watched a heard of buffalo 20 feet away. This ranch is just a few miles before the entrance to Zion Nat'l Park which was amazing. There is also a very good restaurant on site.

Room Tip: Ask for the "buffalo view"

My husband and I visited the ranch for the first time and what an amazing spot. We unfortunately were only able to stay one night, but our cabin was lovely, the view amazing and the restaurant staff and meal were excellent. We met Chef Kurt who is extremely talented and new to the property. My husband had a Caesar salad with fresh grilled asparagus from the garden and the Buffalo Tenderloin. I stole a taste and it was to die for. I had the beet salad, again all fresh ingredients from the garden and the grilled tuna which melted in my mouth. After our amazing meal we shared a bubble bath in our 2 person Jacuzzi tub and then sat on our deck and watched the stars which are unbelievable.

After sleeping the morning away in the fresh country air, we decided to have lunch since dinner was so amazing. I had the best Steak & Cheese sandwich ever and my husband couldn't resist the buffalo burger. Again, AMAZING!!!!

Don't miss out on this fabulous spot. The new chef is incredible and he is focused on making it even better and continuing to use the fresh vegetables grown on site in their gardens. The heard of buffalo were great to watch, especially cute little babies and the chicken, bunnies and miniature horses quit entertaining. What a wonderful getaway!!!!

This place is not for everybody. It is very isolated and one restaurant. The area is awesome, out in the middle of nowhere. There are different amenities in cabins and lication. It was a short stay so we chose the least expensive at $179/Meadow view. From the outside we thought we could be in trouble, but once we opened the door it was so cozy. Large heavy furniture dominate the cabin, with a wood burning fireplace and jacuzzi tub. It was a nice surprise about the tub after a long travel day. The amenities include a delightful bar of soap, especially, made for Zion Mt.Ranch using herbs and edible flowers. The bed was high off the ground but not easy for a 5 ft women gto just hop on. The serenity is worth the drive from the park. There are horses for rent, a fire pit to sit and watch the buffalo. Our cabin had a fridge but didnt work. It was ok for us we didnt have alot of food. We went and got some ice at the restaurant. The staff was neither friendly or helpful.

Stayed here for therethree nights while visiting Zion. The stay was comfortable enough and pretty close to the east entrance of the park, which is, I think, the most beautiful section of the park. This made it very convenient to drive into the park in the early morning or late afternoon to get some amazing photos, utilizing the sun's location and color hues, and going back to the cabin for lunch.

Here's some details:
· Although the Web site suggests that all cabins have a view of the buffalo reserve and the park, we had a cabin that had neither. We had a porch and window views of other cabins.

· The buffalo sometimes are herded over the hill and are not visible at all times.

· The area next to the office has a really nice and cute area with an old wagon and a variety of animals and makes for a nice photo op.

· Our particular cabin was tilted enough to be noticeable.

· The shower curtain was too long and absorbed water rather than repelling it, which meant that there was no way to prevent water from spilling all over the bathroom floor. It was like a wet blanket every time we took a shower, which was very strange.

· Our cabin featured a mini frig, microwave, coffee maker, TV, DVD player, and alarm radio.

· The person who checked us in indicated that wifi was only available in the office and associated restaurant, however we found an unprotected wifi service available from within the cabin. Hope it was authentic.

· The cabin had an air conditioning unit that makes the normal amount of noise when running. Unfortunately, we are light sleepers and found we had to turn the unit off during the night to get some sleep. Fortunately we were there in late spring and opening the windows kept things cool and comfortable.

Overall this was a nice comfortable cabin stay. It is rustic, as you might expect. So you're still in the dirt and things are not perfect, but its conveniently close to the park. A great place to stay on our visit to Zion.

Room Tip: Choose a cabin that is far away from the others

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-May. If you are seeking something close to the park entrance, this is not for you. It is about a 30 min. drive east of the park through some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever encounter. Expect a delay at the tunnel as they clear oncoming traffic but even that should not deter you. Once at the Ranch you will be greeted by a friendly staff in a very quiet rustic setting. We reserved an accommodation overlooking the canyon behind the ranch. It was a huge two room cabin with a fireplace, dining table, kitchenette, 1 1/2 baths, and large bedroom. Outside was a big deck and your very own fire pit. The restaurant is good, not great, with decent food and quick friendly service for breakfast and dinner. There is a selection of craft beers and wine, no liquor. From the restaurant windows you can watch the roaming herd of buffalo or the many other animals on the grounds. All in all, if you want to be away from the noise and overcrowding of Springdale, enjoy a little family time in a private ranch setting, you will love it here.
