No good reason to eat at the lodge unless you came in on a bus and can't get back before the shuttle bus stops at 9pm. I'd guess that pretty much every restaurant is Springdale is better. But, the salad bar is the best option if you have to eat here. Good soup.

Spent a few days at Zion after a business trip in Vegas. We ate the buffet and it was decent for the price. They had soup and mostly Mexican food like tacos, fajitas and salad. It definitely was a good value for what you got.

The Buffet is good also for vegetarian. It is a better choice than ordering from the menu. Though a sack lunch on the grass would allow more time to visit the park.

The service was excellent. There was a decent salad bar and the selection of main courses was varied.

We dined on the terrace as the late afternoon sun shown on the majestic red cliffs directly across from the lodge. I can't imagine a more beautiful setting. The waiter was good, but my choice of entre', which he endorsed left much to be desired. The bison meatloaf was oozing with oil, apparently from the grilling. My wife's pesto artichoke squash dish was much to her liking, however, and heard no complaints fro the two others at our table. Tip: it is a popular place...good to make reservations well in advance for outdoor dining.
