“Tasty food, Dramatic View”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

We recently visited Zion National Park and stayed at the Zion Lodge so eating at the Red Rock Grill was quite convenient and our breakfast was included in the room price.
We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here on most days and while the choice is limited we found the food to be quite good, well prepared and nicely presented. Our server at several meals, a young lady from Chicago by the name of Zanetta was friendly and attentive, a real plus. When she was off duty we still had pleasant service from other staff members as well.
At breakfast we sampled both the buffet and other menu items; the multigrain blueberry pancakes were excellent and the oatmeal at the buffet was thick and tasty.
At lunch the sandwiches were fresh and quite filling. Dinner as well was nicely prepared and presented.
Overall a very pleasant experience.

“Better than expected and a decent value.”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 via mobile

After driving to kolob plateau today did not want to drive to town. Despite the lukewarm reviews we tried the red rock and were pleasantly surprised. The server Jose was sincerely friendly and let us order off of the lounge menu so I could get the bison burger. I had it with blue cheese and sweet potato fries. The cheese was a good quality one and the bun was nice. The patty was a little thin but the rest made up for it. The fries were killer served with a sweet bacon butter. I made use of the extra chipotle mayo instead. I thought the prices were fair especially for being inside the park with the amazing views and cozy but bright modern lodge decor.

“Just in time”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

We pulled up just as they were closing, but you wouldn't have noticed, the staff was very nice, easy going, no attitude about us coming in, we were so tired and hungry it was such a delight.

“When there's nothing else...”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

Red Rock Grill is the only restaurant open at Zion Lodge. Your food options are limited, just like their hours. Our room package included the breakfast buffet. Nothing extraordinary about it, food you expect from a hotel buffet: warmish pancakes and eggs, cold and warm cereal options, fruit and pastries. Service was mediocre. I saw people pouring their own coffee.
We came back for lunch. Typical lunch options, sandwiches, burgers, salads. We left hungry, the food was warm at best. Service was not any better. I asked the server for water twice. Finally came to pour and splashed the entire table and didn’t even acknowledge it.
They offer a sack lunch option for those not returning to the lodge for lunch. For $9.95 you can get a sandwich, chips and cookie. The advertisement for this is at the front desk, it says to provide at least an hour to prepare. We requested it as soon as we got to lunch, since the bulk of our hiking will be done in the afternoon/early evening. We had lunch at the restaurant, went back to the room to prep, came back about 2 hours later and were told the sack lunches would not be ready until the next day. The server who took our order said they were busy and there was no way around it. He was hesitant to cancel the order, since by the next day we would be gone and would not need it. Attitude in tow, he took about 20 min to come back and said it was done; we would not be charged and walked away and nothing else.
We decided to drive into town for dinner. Beautiful setting isn’t enough to make up for poor service.
