Relais Des 3 Pommes

Arrived at this hotel about 8.30pm. The manager is very friendly and gave us the key to our chalet. There is plenty of parking space and the parking at the back is best for reaching the chalets especially if you have a lot of luggage. A fter the long journey we just wanted to unwind and went to the bar. The bar closed at 9.00pm so that was that. The chalet feels quite cramped and the bathroom is made from the same materials you get on a ship.
H aving said that if you are only staying overnight and are not too fussy then this is satisfactory.
Breakfast at €6.00 was good and was self service.
The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable.
As other travellers pointed out a lick of paint would not go amiss to the exteriors of the chalets but all in all not bad for a room price of €49.

I give this place "very good" because even though it is not a luxury place, it was very clean and well-run. Comfortable beds with nice linens. The manager is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is good and only cost 6 Euros. It is not a bad walk into town either. It's in a quiet location that seemed very safe. We arrived close to 10 PM. (There is a sign outside the train station with numbers to call for taxis. The taxi company speaks good English and arrived in less than 5 minutes to take us to the hotel. It was about 10 Euros since it was late.) For late arrivals the hotel has a key dispenser where you enter your credit card that you booked with. We got our keys no problem.

We rented a car back to Paris airport because we could only find a 14:10 train leaving Bayeux as the latest departure, but some students were able to find an 18:40 somehow with their Eurail passes. Our rental car ended up costing us $275 because we arrived back in Paris after all of the gas stations were closed and we did not have a chip and pin credit card to use at the pumps to fill the car back up. There were also about $40 in tolls along the way, but your credit card will work on those. It was an easy drive back on a Sunday evening - 4 lanes and light traffic.

A dated complex that serves it purpose for an overnight stay when you just want to sleep, the rooms are almost caravan sized but very clean with a comfortable bed; the rooms would benefit from an overhaul and facilities to provide ventilation (if you are happy to leave your door open whilst sleeping then this would not be a problem). The cafeteria style facilities provide breakfast that was adequate with very helpful and friendly staff. The walk into Bayeux is a delightful walk along a river and through a park. Our next visit would be longer as the area is steeped in history and possibly an upgrade to a hotel!

a bit deceiving because the front car park, restaurant, bar and entrance are very spacious and modern. the rooms however look like prefab sheds made in the 1970's and not been decorated since. the bed was clean and comfortable and so was the bath. the room was cleaned during the day but was not re locked and we had a lot of biking gear in there, so wasn't too happy about that. i would not recommend this hotel unless you just want a cheap bed for the night and not bothered what it looks like.

Room Tip: ask for a recently decorated one

imagine a very small caravan with a patio door, that is what the chalets are like. there is room for 2 twin beds, a dressing table and a bathroom. The beds were clean and for one night it served its purpose, but if i had my time again i would pay more money and find a nice hotel. we chose this hotel as it has parking on site but to be honest the cars would probably have been just as safe in a public car park. the walk to the town centre was a pleasant 20 minute stroll alongside the river.

We were going to save a few Euros and checked it out. Needless to say-it was not pretty. Sliding glass front doors to very small rooms. Bunk beds is a few of them. Looks like they bring in large tour groups through here for "cafeteria style" dinner and "camp" sleeping accomodations on the cheap. Would have done it if I was young and dumb but with my family we took a pass. I would never take a shower in one of their rooms!
