Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were the first in for lunch and were welcomed nicely, offered our choice of seating and were quickly offered drinks, menus and told what was the best available. Drinks and water came quickly and everything else ordered came out at just the right pace...for a nice, relaxed lunch for the two of us. The Accras plate (6) was the right size for a shared starter and very good, to my taste. My wife’s millefeuille de poisson and my emparillada de la mer were both beautifully presented, properly prepared and quite tasty. The servings were large by European standards and we really did have trouble finishing most of our plates. No room for dessert so can’t speak to that. Coffee was good and very nicely served. Staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Made us both feel good about being there. There is a bit of road noise, but the setting is private, the decor tasteful and quite relaxing. Total for two (including margarita, beer and water) just over 70€. That is what we have come to expect for a better-than-run-of-the-mill restaurant in Guadeloupe and it is certainly comparable to home for a comparable quality meal/restaurant. Good, solid four stars.More

We stopped for lunch. We were the only guests, in spite of that we were not sllowdd go choose the table, where to sit. The choice on the menu us limited especially for vegetarians. The Mahi Mahi fish fillet was overdone and dried out. Price...too high for what you get - as in the centre of Paris - even though the food anx service were just average. Would not stop again.More

The location was very beautiful. The food was good, but nothing special (also for the price you pay). The dessert was very delicious! The service was nice too.

Lively, fun place. Live band, dancing, but not too nosiy. Food was very good, prices were reasonable, service was friendly and professional. Be aware that there is no parking lot, you have to just grab a spot where you can.

Loved the vegetarian options and SO thought her fish was the best she'd had in Guadeloupe. Very friendly staff and good beer list. Can be noisy right next to the road (obviously). Park on the road across from or on the side street next to...the restaurant.More

The food was delicious, fresh and local! They have very friendly staff who speak pretty good English. It was refreshing to have such wonderful service. They also have an English menu, which made it easier to select our food options. I had a delicious puff...pastry stuffed with local crawfish and veggies, one of the best meals I had on the island! They also have a good selection of wine and deliciously made cocktails! The ambiance is great, it is close to the road, but the noise from the cars was limited in the evening. It is tucked away just enough!More

A real place with interesting mix of guests proving that qualitative products, prepared with quite some international inspiration and a touch of originality leads to becoming a reference alongside the lovely Basse Terre coast “Sous le vent”. The chef Thierry knows everything about local products,...their origin, how to cook them and local traditional cuisine. Most interesting, however, he does not hesitate to try inventive combinations. Must try are the fish carpaccio with maracudja, or our favourite fish carpaccio wth coffee, and main dish delicious and very tasty “Crumble de poisson et sa mousse au citron vert”. Excellent cocktails and wine list as well! And last but not least : the very attentive and personal service makes you come back to try the unknown dishes.More

Having been in Guadeloupe for three weeks I've looked for unique and fun places to eat. While this jewel is not sitting in the water, but tucked into a small canyon on the main road and you have to carefully park---- The food was the...best I found on the island. The tapas was fresh and tasty and the mahi was perfect. Veggies were fresh and the chocolate dessert I could not finish!! The help was excellent and wine selection was outstanding Go!!!!More

The dorade alla plancia was generous, cooked just as asked, simple sides of fries and salad and at 16eu a decent price. Setting in garden is nice, young chilled staff, nice decor, however we had to wait ages for the order to be taken, the...starters arrived ok and were fairly good, accras bit heavy, grilled squid good. The mains took a long while to come and then only 4 out of 5 identical orders. Apologies offered then nothing happened again for some time - time to shape up the liaison between staff, bar & kitchen!!More

My husband, young child, and I happened up this restaurant, and I am very glad we did. My daughter and I are vegetarians, which can sometimes make eating out in a Francophone country a bit challenging, but they had a couple of options for us,...which was really nice. I speak (adequate) French, but the staff spoke English as well. The atmosphere was really nice with lights strung around the tables. We really enjoyed our meal.More

I arrived right after they open, but was told the kitchen doesn't open another half an hour and I should wait in the lounge area outside. When I was finally seated at the table 30mins later there was only one other guest behind my table....About 20 mins after I ordered Menu Monde, Shrimp Wok, the server brought my dinner - or so I thought even though it looked different from what I expected. While I already started on the meal partially, I heard the other guest behind me call the waitress and say something in French. The waitress then came over to tell me they mixed up our orders and served mine to the other guest and I got hers, which I already touched. The server took mine back to the kitchen but brought me the plate right from the other table because she didn't touch it, supposedly. There was no further explanation or apology from anyone during or after dinner. I paid my bill and left feeling mistreated.More

We've been going to this place 4 times during our stay in Bouillante, going through almost the entire menu! We were even suprised with a Gwoka concert (big drums). The service is very friendly and efficient and the chef is open to specific requests, on...my first meal I asked to bea ble to have just the tuna, very lightly seared and no sauces whatsover and the chef understood immidiatly what I meant and did exactly that :DMore

The food is good, you can even have tasty caprese with goat cheese, a welcomed change to the creole dishes. Personally, I found the chicken more tasty than the mixed meat, but this is of course a matter of individual taste. The local root vegetables...served are delicious.More

Nice looking restaurant, but the food is missing finesse. Quantity seems going above quality. Friendly service and average prices.
