We booked at the last minute and feel incredibly lucky to have found Downe Cottages. We spent four nights there and with hindsight wish we could've stayed longer. The cottages were very well equipped, comfortable and with a view of Lundy Island. The Sea is less than a mile away. ... some beautiful beaches are a short drive away. We visited Widemouth Bay, Bude and were lucky to experience Hartland Quay at sunset.
Jeremy and Linda were fantastic hosts and our 9 year old son loved 'the field' where he played football to his hearts content. We felt looked after, not just customers and every need or want had been catered for. On the map it may look slightly remote but because you are right by the coast it doesn't feel that way. We felt relaxed and rested after four nights and if we come back to North Devon we will definitely be coming back to Downe Cottages. It's possibly in the most beautiful spot in the country. We couldn't recommend it highly enough!!! You will not be disappointed with a stay at Downe Cottages.
