I stayed here on my way to India, travelling with China Airlines. It is about a 25 minute from the international hotel.

The man who met me at the airport was very friendly and happy, so too were the staff at the hotel... even if many of us didn't share the same langague very well ;)

The food was great.

The room was really clean, spacious, quiet and very comfortable.

The lobby is indeed grand! There are orchids everywhere... I absolutely loved them.

THe hotel is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden with views to the ocean... making it a very pleasant place to enjoy a 1 night stop over.

The wake up call can be relied upon.

Staff are professional, polite and punctual.

As the other reviews say, this hotel is a stopover hotel for China airlines, we were on our way to Rome from Brisbane, Australia. The lobby and restaurant areas are absolutely breathtaking, it looks so luxurious and grand, with huge winding spiral staircases and acres of varnished hardwood finishings, it’s just beautiful. We were provided with a free dinner when we arrived, and breakfast and lunch the next day. The meals were a little weird and had this odd flavor, but on our way back through Taipei on the way home, we came to understand that ALL Taiwanese food has the same funny taste, so the hotel cannot be blamed for this.
Our room was gigantic, and had very nice finishings. The bathroom was great, though I think we ran out of hot water that night unfortunately. The view from our balcony was incredible, just acres and acres of this pristine golf course and gardens. Lovely.
The city was about a 50 minute cab-ride away, which pretty much sucked. We went into town that night to see the markets, and went out again the next day to go to the zoo, so that cost us a bucketload but the sites were definitely worth it. The other thing with travel was, the cab drivers who take you from the city back to the hotel have no idea how to find it, so just make sure you have a card with the map to the hotel and the phone number on it, so they can contact hotel staff if they need to (no cab drivers in Taipei speak English, you’ll need to have the hotel staff call the cabs for you).
I have no clue how much this place would normally cost per night if it wasn't a free stopover, but if I ever happen to be in Taipei again, I’m sure I’d go back.

i've stayed here many times in transit to bali. china used it for their transit passengers going TO bali (from Hawaii)
coming FROM Bali they use the Taoyaun Holiday Hotel.
The mirmar is the better of the two hotels and if you request it, they will put you there going both ways....just have to make sure you request it.
The Mirmar , although showing some age , hase the nicer rooms. THe bathroom is done in marble and has a bath and shower, plenty of water pressure and clean. Beds are comfy and rooms are quite good size........the downside is you are out in the country so there is not much to do while transiting, besides, eating , sleeping and watch TV. depending on your arrival time. you get a food voucher for dinner/breakfast or one or the other,
they provide shuttle to / from airport.......
I've been there a couple of times and the hotel had a golf event and it was quite lively......other times it's just the transit passengers for the most part.........
if you want to be closer to a town the taoyuan holiday would be better, although I'm not sure what there is to do around there......seems to be a suburb city of taipei . The food sucks there......sorry no other way to put it......

We stayed at this Hotel for 1 night on a recent trip to Europe from Brisbane Australia. We travelled with China Airlines & as they are said to be owners of this resort, they often place their transit passengers there free of charge for 1 night.
We enjoyed our stay there, it was a large, grand place, clean, safe, friendly, huge rooms, & even got free breakfast & dinner. The Hotel is part of a large golf course & it is very scenic & pretty. The only downside is that it is far from the city (about 40 mins) & there is no public transport close by. However, Taxi's are available to take you into town or to the nearest MRT train station (about 25 mins). The hotel does provide free shuttle service's to/from the airport.
Im not sure what the normal rates would be but as a free stopover the Hotel is great.
