“Wonderful picturesque walks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

This is a great place for an afternoon stroll. The land tends to be flat so it is great for toddlers and the elderly, even wheelchairs. The lake is picturesque, there are some interesting statues, a nicely revamped play area for children, and you can feed the ducks, buy an icecream, and visit the visitor centre where there is a nice little restaurant too. My only criticism is that one cannot walk right round the lake. You tend to go along for about 3/4 mile, then you have to turn back and retrace your steps. It can also get quite muddy, even on the paths, and sometimes parking nearby is limited and you have to go to the carpark further down the road.

“Its my kids favourite place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

I have taken my children to Ellesmere Mere several times. They love it! Its an ideal trip for a dry day. Its a lovely walk around the mere. Very pretty and picturesque. As you walk from the car park around the lake, there is a restaurant, boat rides and an Ice cream stall. The ducks like to follow you around. You can buy seeds to feed the ducks from the Ice cream stall. The ducks will literally eat out your hand... As you continue to walk around the lake towards Ellesmere town, you come to a walled park area. Its perfect for the kids to run around in, breath taking views of the lake and the greenery. Further into the park you will come to a play area. It is brilliant!! Its by far my girls favourite place. It has an adventure play area, lots of swings, slides and a massive sand pit. Its a very low cost, high quality day out :)

What a wonderful place. The views, the scenery and the walks are fantastic. You don't have to go far to find Glacial History and Modern Day Beauty all in one package

Loved ellesmere mere, it as a lot going for it. You can take a boat ride on the lake, have a meal at the restaurant or just go for a walk and have an icecream and feed the ducks. there is a children,s park and a woodland walk, you can park right on the front but all parking is pay and display, not expensive.

“Something for all the family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

For a hearty walk, a short stroll or just a run around with the kids, this place is great! feed the ducks, have an ice-cream or a full meal, find out about wildlife and take the kids to the playground. For peace & quiet, wlk along the flat path to the Ssshhh sculpture and enjoy one of the best views in Britain.
