This was an unexpected surprise. The drive through the park is slow but enjoyable. It quiet and clean. Highly recommended to drive through this park even if you don't spend time in the water.

This is a nice drive out to Fort Pickens. The charge is only $3 per person or $8 per car and at the end you can tour Fort Pickens. It is an enjoyable drive you need to take your time and not hurry. The views are good and there are several picnic and camping areas in the park. Great family place. Oh yeah the beaches on both sides are fantastic. Take suntan lotion.

After spending time on the noisy, busy, somewhat crowded part of the beach, it was wonderful to drive down to the peaceful, undeveloped area. It's good to have a combination of being at the beach AND getting away from it all. [There ARE bathrooms, however! ;-)]

I stayed three nights at the Fort Pickens campground, and spent the days at the beaches. Langdon Beach was wonderful, especially in the early morning before the park opens to non campers. I watched a blue heron catching fish, dolphins, ospreys, ghost crabs in the sand, even a stingray. there were birds everywhere. Even after the park opened, the beaches were not crowded. much better than the crowds in Pensacola beach. Bring your own food, as there are no restaurants (unless you drive 4 miles back to Pensacola Beach (at 20 mph). there is an $8.00 per vehicle fee, good for a week (free with senior parks pass)

All the reviews are spot on! This is the place to go for families. Langdon Beach is outstanding! Not crowded, so clean, shower/restroom facilities, lifeguard and a picnic area...so much better than going to beach in Pensacola Beach. (We had to meet people there our first day and it was awful! Crowded doesn't begin to describe...)

Bring a cooler with eats and drinks and you are all set. Forgot your food? Just stop by the park store for whatever you may need.

Now to Fort Pickens...all I can say is GO! Fantastic 1830s era fort that was in service until early part of 20th century. It is constructed of brick and stone and is nearly intact. You can go in every nook and cranny...it is truly open for exploration. My boys were in HEAVEN!! They kept saying "best day ever", over and over again. There are also old gun batteries and various artillery posts to walk around.

We barely scratched the surface....could have gone back for days! Entry fee was $8 for one vehicle and it was good for a week. You just can't do better than that! Highly recommend!!!
