Tip watch speed limit bird nesting. Camping area looked nice. Visit the Fort too. Park opens at 8 AM. There is a fee. There is a web site for this area

We love the gorgeous white sand beaches and there are great attractions and food close by. We have been several times and have been extremely happy each time.

“Peaceful....”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

This part of the Gulf is very peaceful and laid back. Not a lot of crowds and plenty of restrooms and picnic areas.

“Tranquil Escape”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

I had the pleasure of visiting the Fort Pickens, Santa Rosa and Perdido Key areas for one day each. The cost was only $8 for a seven-day vehicle pass good for all three areas. This is the perfect place to appreciate wildlife and nature. The drives alone were breathtaking, with water on both sides of the road. The speed limits range from 15 to 25 miles per hour to protect the birds, and this forces you to relax and take everything in, although there were just a few annoying tailgater types who would have been better suited to the bumper-to-bumper crowds elsewhere. There were multiple spots to stop and swim, but only one spot with lifeguards, restrooms and showers for each area. These were the busiest spots, but you could easily kerp driving and park at one of the less populated spots, take a short walk, and feel like you had the place to yourself. If I ever make it back to the Pensacola area, this will be a definite do-over.

“A nice drive”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

It's a quiet peaceful drive through the National Seashore district. We were there on a drizzly day but still were able to enjoy a walk on the beach viewing the Gulf.
