This was the first time i have stayed in the hotel; though i have visited the marina and visited the restaurant from Singapore many times before by car and passenger ferry to get a day away from the city.

There is an under used golf course - i have rarely seen a player on it but it looks very well maintained, a sheltered marina (its up a river and behind breakwaters) and hotel with a fairly nice pool.

You can get there by car from Singapore or Johor or by passenger ferry from Singapore. The restaurant food is pretty good; though the service is terrible. If you are coming from singapore; get ready for the mosquitos. Bug repellant spray or coils deal to some point but there was blood on the sheets when i woke up in the morning.

The hotel is split into groups of rooms in separate buildings. The rooms are a total disaster (the first room i was given had no working lights in the wet room.) area everything looks well used; and the air conditioning is in need of a service or replacement to make it cool the room much more.

If you are a visiting sailor it might be worth a stop for a few days break or repairs - though you will have to go to singapore for parts as there is no boat repair business at the marina. If you are visiting by boat i think you can sleep on your boat and there is shore power / water.

This resort has the potential to offer so much more! My first problem was that despite claiming to be fully booked, at times we felt like the only people in the hotel. And given that this is a remote resort, we had to rely on the food in the restaurants within the hotel. Even though there was barely any other diners...food took forever to arrive, it arrived at different stages and generally the service was appalling.

On the plus side, the rooms were very clean, well maintained and off a high standard. We had paid extra for a suite and it was definitely worth it.

The resort has so much potential given the close proximity to Singapore, but we were left un-enthused and unimpressed and probably wouldn't be back :(

This was my second visit to this resort, which touts itself as the Carribean of the East. I was very impressed with the resort on my first visit several years ago.
But what a great difference those years have made. It is sad to see how badly maintained the place has become.
I booked a 2 room apartment for 3 nights. The paint was peeling from the exterior of the building. But worst was to come:
Day 1: The shower could not be turned off. The repairman came and settled that.
Day 2: The aircon leaked in the middle of the night, causing a puddle in the bedroom. The repairman came again to settle that.
Day 3: The aircon leaked AGAIN, soaking our luggage and clothes. The repairman, who by now was on very friendly terms with us, came and settled that.
All 3 days, the toilet cistern was leaking.
By then, I made an official complaint to the management. They offered to change our room, but we were on our last day and decided that it was too much of a hassle relocating to another apartment.
So the repairmen (2 this time) came and repaired the shower, which was still giving problems, the leaking toilet cistern and the aircon. It was like doing renovation work while we were trying to enjoy our stay in the apartment.
The only thing that I can compliment the resort is the long-suffering repairman, who smiled sheepishly whenever he came and we vented our frustration on him.
So it is really quite sad the way this place has degenerated.

We checked into our 2 bedroom apartment and were terribly disappointed with the state of the apartment. It was filled with dust and the flooring was dirty! Seem like nobody stayed there for quite sometime. One of the glass panel at the balcony door was broken that we had to request the hotel reception to come and take a look. They eventually fixed it with a piece of wooden plank.
At night we were stung by mosquitoes....and the aircon was too noisy. Facilities were very basic, no bathtub and with a small swimming pool that had rough edges. The view at the Marina Bay was not attractive to make you stay. I would never recommend this place as it is really rundown and not worth paying for it. Please avoid this place if you can!

I just returned from this hotel and is quite OK. It has many facilities. I entered the room and wanted to have a cup of coffee using the hotel's cup. Shocked to see that the cup had cracked. When I had a bath, the shower had a hole at the side a water splashed out from everywhere. The bathtub was a little cracked too. Their soap and shampoo are good, with a heavenly citrus scent. I had all my meals at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious! The worst part of the hotel is the bed. It was so stiff and it was very difficult to sleep. The TV Satelite can be improved. There were many mosquitos, advise everyone NOT to open the balcony door or your room will be full of mosquitos. By the way, many people thought that this hotel is in Desaru, but it is not. Overall it was acceptable for me.

Visited Sebana Cove resort in Desaru in early May and liked the suite room (very good size) and the balcony that overlooks the marina. However after a swim in the pool with my 17mths old baby, we returned to the hotel only to realise that the hot shower/bath was not working so I had to wrestle to bathe my screaming baby in the cold bath. We called the technicians immediately after and fortunately the showers were fixed in an hour...baby caught a cold after the trip. The food in the restaurant is fine but not too many selections. Overall the experience was ok except for the cold shower.
