This would have to be the most dog friendly place to stay, that I have ever visited.
there are very few areas dogs are not allowed. Large property with lots of beautiful bush walks and rivers.
We stayed in the bunkhouse very basic accomodation but had a good working aircon in the room which we needed as it was cold. Large kitchen area and a hall with ammenities everything connected by an undercover varandah.
Nice friendly staff, kiosk available for snacks and coffee.
Only downfall was the Christmas in July dinner very expensive for what it was and poor service there was one amazing lady serving though that made up for all the rest and actually saved us from walking out.
Had a great weekend will be back for sure would love to camp in summer and enjoy the river and swimming. Fantastic place to take the dogs.

We stayed this weekend in a park cabin and decided to have the Christmas in July Dinner which was extremely poor.
$42 for a slapped together roast dinner that consisted of a dry piece of pork a slice of thin deli ham and a dry piece of beef with a piece of pumpkin and a couple of other cold veggies. Dessert was tinned apples with box custard and some crumble microwaved to within an inch of its life - not even a bread roll in sight. Very sad dinner and a nice hole our pockets on top of poor customer service we won't be eating in the restaurant next time.

Facilities are OK but limited. Very expensive souvenir shop. Campsites along the river are quite nice but it gets very crowded during summer. Dormitory style rooms are basic but comfortable. Food is not cheap but it is reasonable.

Riverwood Downs is a relaxing country retreat. Be aware that you need to travel down a dirt road and there are no shops or restaurants close by. The scenery is fantastic and there is a walking trail that takes you through bush and farmland. We stayed in a spa suite. Decor is 1990s country style. The room was clean but air con was a little noisy. There is a restaurant and cafe/kiosk onsite. We were disappointed that the open fire was out of action in the restaurant as it was the middle of winter. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

We spent two nights in a cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabin had all the necessary things for a comfortable stay. We had lunch at the kiosk when we arrived. We had dinner that night in the restaurant. My partner and I had curry and it was fantastic. The other 5 people with us had various menu items and everyone loved their meals. We found the grounds were well kept, there were plenty of birds to photograph and the nearby river with its resident platypuses. We will go back again.

Room Tip: It's in a valley so it's very quiet at night no matter where you are.
