We stayed at the Boathouse last Friday and I have to say this is the 3rd time and every time has been lovely and relaxing. The food was of a very high standard and even though it was a busy night and a new menu the staff were very attentive and timing of the food coming out was perfect, and we have high expectations. We stayed in room 4 which is a lovely large room with a very big bathroom and all decorated tastefully. The views from the bed are just beautiful when you wake up in the morning looking across the water. The breakfast was another plus and cooked to perfection by the owner Tim. Truly a great hotel to stay and the staff could do no more.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel on a Saturday night. It's a slightly strange set up with only 10 rooms the reception is also the bar! Nevertheless we stayed in room 6 - very well appointed room with a view of the fountain and lateral view of the marina. The room was beautifully clean and decorated. I am a fussy person and I could find no fault with the room.

The real point of this review (and this is my first ever I have felt moved to write) was the customer service. Breakfast is served from 8.00 am on a Sunday morning. My girlfriend and I needed to leave before 8.00 am but the receptionist said she would come in half an hour early so we could have breakfast before we left. Maybe I don't go to the right hotels but I thought that level of service was beyond and above the normal call of duty.

A welcoming hotel in an interesting setting by the side of a marina complex. At first appearances the building looks nothing like the average hotel, and this impression is compounded by the fact that reception is at the bar.
We'd asked for one of the rooms with a balcony, and were shown to a large room with windows and balcony on two sides. This would be wonderful on a hot summer's night, but perhaps less so in a cold February. Nevertheless the view was fantastic and everything spotlessly clean. The only criticism of the room was that the entry to the shower cubicle was a bit of a squeeze for those of us who should perhaps be slimmer.
The restaurant was excellent, although we were faced with a very large party and live music on our first night. The Maitre'd could not have been better, and the chef is to be commended.
Probably best to thin of the Boathouse as a restaurant with rooms rather than a traditional hotel.
We will go back.

Stayed last weekend for one night and i must say that overall it was a pleasant stay. Check in was quick, easy and staff were very welcoming. In actual fact staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I just thought that as the rate only included continental breakfast and not a cooked breakfast (an additional £8 each) at £120 this was a bit steep. I would of thought around the £85 mark would have been more reasonable.

Just returned from having 3 nights stay in the Boathouse (8th March to 11th March 2013) On arriving the staff were so pleasant and helpfull. Showed us to our room wjich was very large, clean and spacious. The views over the Marina were fantastic. Our room had a very large balcony which would be lovely in the summer as the views are great. The continental breakfast was more than enough for us. The service and the staff were faultless they could not do enough for us. Very pleasant all the time. From checking in to leaving we were very happy with the service, we would have no hesitating in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Thank you for a great stay.
