“A real gem of a site and adult only too !”
Reviewed 8 August 2012

Just returned from a first time visit to this adult only site (found it through Tranquil Touring Parks). What a pleasure our stay was. The site is quiet and peaceful and beautifully maintained. Summer wardens, Steve and Lynne, could not have been more helpful. Majority of pitches are generously sized hardstandings surrounded by grass and mature flowerbeds for privacy. Loos are luxurious and well maintained. All in all you get what you pay for ~ we will return soon.

The site is good. Not a lot of things to do in the area. The shower blocks were ok, but not many of them and wasn't particularly impressed with the 'all in one' e.g. toilet, basin and shower in one cubicle. However they were clean. However the gem of this site is the onsite restaurant. It's one of the highest quality restaurants I've been to in ages. The staff and the chef had all worked in high class restaurants. The food and service were superb. The building is gorgeous.

Room Tip: Some pitches are difficult to get onto with a caravan unless you have a motor mover.

We picked this site on purpose over the August holidays as it was adults only and had fishing on site. The site is well maintained with a small shop, the veg prep area is basic and the showers although clean were not very powerful. We are very active and not as old as some motorhome owners so wanted to get around on our bikes or by walking, however this is some distance from anywhere to walk although cycling distance off road to St Ives which is lovely. There are not good views from the site unless you go up on the top. This presented us with the problem as the farmers(and owners) dog barked constantly throughout the night - i had to go into the village and buy ear plugs not what you want on a week away! I am aware that he had some livestock stolen but i still dont think he should let his dog disturb his customers. The Fishing was good - if anything a little too easy - and it is a pain that there are so many restrictions - i almost felt sorry for the fish who seemed very hungry and eager to be caught!
Overall its a nice sight if you are slightly older with a car to get about but we wont be going back as there are sites with far better facilities for the price charged.

This is a relatively small campsite but nice for that. It was mostly used by caravans and motor-homes - we were one of only a few tents. We had a grassy pitch with water tap and electric hook-up at the top of the small hill a minute's walk from the entrance and buildings. Good, clean, warm bathrooms with toilets, showers and wash basins with plentiful hot water. The on-site shop is quite pricey but useful for emergencies. We couldn't get a meal in the restaurant as it was fully booked but the menu looked very appetising. We did have a couple of drinks in the bar on Saturday night and, while it was expensive, it was a pleasant, warm and dry retreat from the rain! The adult-only rule meant it was peaceful, even on light mornings, which was lovely.
