“The ECO House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

We wanted somewhere to use as a base for travelling around this part of Dorset. Hollis Hill proved to be the right choice. The rooms were excellent and the owners (Cindy and Ken) most welcoming. Cindy took great care to make sure the food met our requirements (Me being Diabetic). As important, was the excellent countryside views during the day and the view of the stars when the nights were clear. This is certainly a place we will go back to again and again.

Room Tip: Limited choice but as all rooms are excellent -what matters

We felt very welcome at Hollis Hill appreciating friendly touches like the tea and home made cake on arrival, and lovely breakfast. Spacious room and large bed plus lovely view. Walking distance to local pub for an evening meal, with loan of a torch if you need. We were only there a night as just passing through but would definitely be happy to stay again. It's only been running as a B and B a short time, but I am sure it will succeed.

My partner and I wanted a peaceful and relaxing weekend, coupled with a clean, quiet and friendly B and B. So pleased to say that we found what we were looking for. It was so lovely to be greeted by friendly hosts and treated to a tasty evening meal. Cindy's crumble is one of the best we've tasted! The room was spotless with lovely decor, as was the whole house and the ambience was one of peace and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was as good as the evening meal. I particularly like the free range organic eggs. Ken and Cindy were perfect hosts and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The house itself is very interesting as it is an eco-house made of logs which made it a little different from the norm ( in a good way!). Fantastic value for money and we will certainly be coming back again soon!

We have just spent a lovely night at Cindy and Ken's lovely B&B. We had come down to visit friends in Dorset and had travelled with our two daughters (7 and 9). The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fantastic, sitting overlooking stunning scenery. I think one of the highlights for the children was to be taken out to feed the hens, collect eggs and meet the local horses. We certainly plan to return, and hope to spend longer.

We spent two nights at Hollis Hill B & B, Cindy and Ken could not have been more welcoming, they were great hosts throughout our stay and the cake upon arrival was gorgeous. The room was spotless with a very comfortable king-size bed and beautiful views across the Dorset country side.
Breakfast was amazing, served in lovely room with views to die for, you could actually see for miles. In terms of value for money I don’t believe you could get better. The location gave easy access to country side and a short drive to the Jurassic Coast. A small pub in the village, two minutes walk from the B & B served good food at a good price. We will certainly return.

Having just spent one night at Hollis Hill we would reaffirm all that has been said before - Cindy and Ken make excellent hosts in a modern building with views of the ancient Dorset countryside in every direction. The breakfast was spot on and the Victoria sponge on arrival quite superb. We will return and stay longer next time

We had a great week-end at Hollis Hill B&B. The view from our room and the breakfast area is stunning and contributes to an immediate holiday feeling. The rooms are absolutely quiet, hence you can enjoy the benefits of being in the countryside whilst having a beautiful stretch of coastline within easy driving distance. Cindy is very welcoming and prepares you a great breakfast with a choice that goes beyond the usual English breakfast and includes fresh fruit and beautiful eggs from her own chickens. We had the Rampisham room which is not very big but charmingly decorated and includes a large en-suite shower. Everything is brand new. We would choose to come back and can recommend this B&B.
