I recommend wholeheartedly for people of any age. The hike, in my opinion, is breathtaking! It's probably the best part of the hike. The suspension bridge is great and the falls beautiful, but the hike takes the cake. The road to the hike can seem like it takes forever due to its windings, but it's worth it!

This is a very easy hike on a well maintained trail that takes you through beautiful forest and takes you to a 80 foot waterfalls. The hike is aprox. 3.2 miles round trip and suitable for all ages. Just before the falls you come to a suspension bridge that is 240 ft. long and 100 ft. above the falls. The view is amazing. After crossing the bridge you can circle around to the base of the falls. Kids were playing in the water and really enjoying themselves. Although I only notice one small picnic table, this is a great spot to have a picnic. Finding the trail head was easy as I came off Hwy. 18 onto Bear Creek Rd. and followed signs (About 9 miles). A $5 fee is required which you can pay at the trail head. I will make this hike again for sure.

This trail is worth finding. It's about 1.5 miles each way. At the bottom is a creek and waterfall. Finding the trail head can be a challenge. The Lincoln city guides give you the wrong directions. Take Drift Creek road until it Ts, turn right and then 1/4 mile down turn left ( you'll see a sign for Drift Creek trail head). From there its a 10 mile 1 lane paved road. Go slaow and watch out for other cars.
The grade is easy and the trail well maintained. Remember however that you will be climbing back up to get back. Compost toilets are at the trail head. Bring water as there is none there.
Huge trees, pretty forest and a great fall make this all worthwhile. Strap on your boots and get going.

The drive to get to the trailhead was just the beginning of a great hike. It was beautiful driving the road there. The trail itself was well maintained and covered with bark mulch. It was not difficult nor particularly long. Finding the beautiful suspension bridge in the middle of the forest was a great surprise. The falls were nice too. We only passed 4 people on the hike so it was not only beautiful but quiet. This would be a great hike for kids too.

Only 3 1/2 miles, about 300' elevation gain, ending at the pretty Drift Creek Falls. Just before the trail's end, you cross over Drift Creek Falls Suspension Bridge! The bridge is 240' long, 100' up, crossing almost over the 80' falls. There was a bench at the end where we had our lunch.
We drove in from Hwy 18, past the Drift Creek Covered Bridge. It was 9 miles, with about 2 gravel. We left out to Hwy 101, all paved, but 13 miles. We preferred this way!
