“Lovely cottage in picturesque surroundings.”
Reviewed 27 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Cottage was fantastic with everything you could need, made even more special with the log fire.
Pub at the end of the road done lovely food but the locals were quite rude so didn't go back after the first night.
Instead went into nearby Bakewell and Matlock with plenty of things to do and some amazing scenery. Even walked the 5 miles from Monyash into Bakewell on Sunday morning which took bout hour and half but is one road so you cant get lost and the sights are breathtaking across the Peak District.
Would 100% recommend the Avonlea Cottage itself though. Many thanks to both Chris and Carole.

“Cosy, fully equipped cottage in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 11 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Was only there for a long weekend but could have easily stayed for a week. As soon as we walked in the door we loved it. The log burner was a great touch and was much appreciated in the cold evenings. Not that the cottage was cold but set the cosy atmosphere. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were also very nice and we'll equipped. The garden was a perfect match. We were lucky with the weather while we were there and enjoyed local walks, the local pub, a couple of trips to bakewell and a visit to Chatsworth estate.
Also nice that we had direct contact with the owners and felt we'll cared for.

Ideally suited for exploring the Peak District. A number of walks can be made from the village itself.
The cottage was warm and comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and easy to cook in and the local pub was excellent and very friendly.

A cottage holiday at Avonlea matched the expections of another one of our guests, who gave us a "Great" Tripadvisor rating. Their comments are typical of many others left in our own "Guest's Comments Book".

“Cosy and well-equipped cottage”
Reviewed 9 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We had a very nice week at the cottage in Monyash. Found it very well-equipped and kitchen actually had a wok (we use one all the time for cooking!). Lovely little back garden (had breakfast out there twice) which overlooks beautiful fields and farm land. On the whole very cozy and comfortable - would recommend it!

We aspire to provide the same warm, welcoming and enjoyable cottage holiday experience for all our guests.
Avonlea is ideally situated in the village of Monyash, to take full advantage of excellent meals served at both Smithy Cafe and The Bullshead pub, which are just 150 metres from our doorstep.

“Comfortable and relaxing”
Reviewed 16 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Cottage very comfortable for two people, nice wood burner for evenings in.
Flowers and bubbly nice touch for arrival and property had all essentials available for use if required. All areas of peak district easily reached from cottage with many local walks straight from cottage. Lathkill and Monsal dales worth the effort at anytime of the year.
Chatsworth estate nearby and can be reached with nice walk from Bakewell.

Local pub The Bull has good food friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff.

Avonlea was renovated with couples in mind being a warm, cosy and a peaceful place to relax in comfort. Its central village location means guests can walk to the village pub in about 2 minutes and enjoy first class food. So there's really no need to cook or do the dishes if you dont want to.
