This farmhouse accommodation will appeal to anyone wanting to appreciate the Derbyshire High Peak countryside. Situated in the middle of farmland, surrounded with the sounds of cattle and sheep, it has the right atmosphere for a relaxing break. But we came to cycle the wonderful cycle trails. This must be one of the nearest B&Bs to Parsley Hay, which has a professional cycle hire outlet with all you need for a great day out on the Tissington Trail or the High Peak Trail. So no need for getting the car out, and if you bring your bike, the farm is just a 5 minute cycle downhill to the junction of these 2 trails. As the trail network is being greatly expanded, this B&B is what you need to explore widely on foot, bike or horse. Nicola and Steve will start your day with a delicious farmhouse breakfast, and their spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds ensure you will have a pleasant rest, ready for the next days activities. Warm and welcoming hosts, they ensure that you don't go hungry or thirsty (even when we arrived pretty late Friday night from London.) And if you are into 6000 year old historical artifacts, then the stone circle and barrow just through the gate are fascinating.

Our stay at Arbor Low was wonderful. My husband and I came with our 3 year old daughter. We stayed in the family room--the room was large and the bed comfortable. Our daughter had a toddler bed and Nicola provided books and toys for her. Bathroom also good. Breakfast food was absolutely wonderful, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh breads, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, cereal--great!!!! Loved the private entrance, the private lounge with games, etc. I cannot say enough about this place. Nicola recommended activities for my family and places to eat that were all wonderful--gave us maps and helped us with directions. She is so friendly and easy to talk to. It is in a super beautiful area, extremely serene; just very comfortable overall was perfect. We were very sad to leave.

We loved out night at Arbor Low. The bedroom was very large, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was our favorite of the four B&B's we stayed at. The house a beautiful and very old and recently totally redone by the owners. (Ask to see the article that was written up about the remodel.) In the morning, we stopped by the stone circle before heading off again. Essentially, perfect.

Our favorite part of our stay was our access non bedroom rooms throughout our stay. When the owners remodeled the house, they ended up with an unnecessary wing with extra bedrooms, an extra dining room, and an extra living room. And they turned all that into a B&B. So we could hang out in our room, in the dining room over tea, or in the living room watching TV. It was so nice to be able to spread out and not confine ourselves to the bedroom alone.

This B&B is not in the village of Monyash but rather about 2.5 miles southeast. But even on foot it is an easy distance.

We stayed at Arbor Low for a weekend at the end of August whilst investigating the local bike trails.
It has a very warm and friendly atmosphere (and cake on arrival!). We stayed with our 2 year old son who couldn't have been better looked after. He had his own special toddler bed with 'digger' bedding, a box of toys to play with and a selection of books to read. If that wasn't enough, a CD player with talking stories was also provided.
We slept perfectly under a cosy feather duvet.
Breakfast was superb and very relaxed. We were free to help ourselves to hot drinks and to toast the fresh organic bread whilst enjoying a variety of fresh fruit and cereals followed by a full english with local produce.
We enjoyed relaxing in the cosy guest lounge and also enjoyed dining at the pub in Monyash as recommended by Nicky.
The whole family were very warm and chatty, we are looking forward to returning.

We booked Arbor Low for a 3 night break and took over both rooms. Nicky made us feel as though we were part of the family and made sure we had a fantastic stay. Arbor Low is ideally located for walking and cycling and there are maps and guide books of the surrounding area to borrow. The breakfast was first rate with cereals, organic yoghurt and organic bread. A really good full English breakfast complemented this.
The accommodation is great in that you have your own entrance into the dining room
Nicky described Arbor Low as " not a doily " B & B. She is right. She provides wonderful hospitality, good accommodation, good food and a very tranquil location.
We will be back again soon.

My husband & I stayed 3 nights at the Arbor Low and came home thoroughly rested, refreshed and recharged!
The accommodation provided all that we needed, the bed was superb and we slept like the 'Dead' :-)
We especially enjoyed the Guest Lounge where we felt we were at home except for the magnificent views from the windows....and the cows!
The breakfasts were first rated, freshly prepared fruits (strawberries, blueberries, pineapples) were excellent together with the ''Full English' enjoyed by my husband each morning.
We recommend this Farm House to anyone interested in cycling, running, hiking as the owners are well versed in these activities and are extremely helpful in finding a trails/route to suit.
Well done Arbor Low, A Rare Jewel you are....Keep it Up and we will see you again.

Comfortable, friendly family, a goose egg for breakfast from the family flock. Easy walk to the Stone Circle, close to Chatsworth too.
