For quite a few years, "Le Chefson" has been consistently offering top French cuisine at very moderate prices. So even though it's obviously off the beaten track, they're usually booked full Monday to Friday, and reservation is mandatory. (closed on week-ends). On a quiet side street of Bois-Colombes, it's only a 15 minutes drive from Porte Maillot, but street parking may prove difficult, even for dinner, so be prepared.
The reward is a no-fuss, low-key, yet elegant atmosphere, low dim level though the dining-rooms are rather packed, attentive welcome and service, and great food. The two chefs/owners who alternate at the piano make the best out of most French gastro standard entrees, with a modern and calory-conscious twist. Never an off-day. Daily specials always to die for, very enjoyable desserts that appeal even to those who don't usually have a sweet tooth, a short but reliable wine list that doesn't make your check explode. Even coffee is good !
Long story short, a little paradise for diners looking for a great meal without a 3-digit price-tag. I've never heard of any patron who didn't like this restaurant, so just enjoy.
