“Bay on the Fjord”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We have found it a challenge to find a restaurant close to where we live that offers tasty food (non-seafood preferred) with good service. Mr. Bay meets these requirements. The changing menu offers Asian dishes with and without seafood. On one of our visits we brought our son along (age 10) and he enjoyed the experience. Should the weather suit you seating is available outdoors along the water. Parking is available in the area and Lysaker Station (bus and train connections) is a 5-10 minute walk away. The prices are a little high but is worth it considering the food, service, and nearness. We will be back.

“I'd go back to Bay's...”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

I sought refuge in this restaurant when the one at our hotel didn't appeal. This restaurant has a lot of curb appeal. The inside is on the dark side, but the tables are nicely spaced and the bar area is very well-lit. Staff is very competent.
The food was a mix of Asian styles, and it was just what we needed. I'd go back for sure.

“Cozy restaurant with a sea view”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

I have been here three times since they opened. I agree with some of the reviews that the price is quite high but this might be due to their view - sea view.

The Chef's sharing menu costs 629 kroner per person. You should be two to be able to order this menu. You get to taste the dishes the kitchen is proud of. We liked everything that was served. First it was a starter which included 5 dishes as I could remember. It included foie gras, chicken pandan, fish, deep fried scampi wrapped in thin wrapper and veal. Everything tasted good. My favorite would be the foie gras and the scampi. For the main dish, they served the main dish. This menu also included a dessert which was also good. The crispy duck is our favorite dish in this restaurant. The portion is half of a duck.

The beer costs 90 kroner and it is a small bottle. All beers are imported from Asia. The cheapest white wine on the menu is 400 kroner a bottle which was good. The red wine we ordered was 500 kroner I believe.

Their staff are very service-oriented.

This restaurant is right outside Oslo but still not far away to make a detour. From the main central station of Oslo, you could take a train going to the direction of Drammen. Get off at Lysaker station. Onced there, just walk towards the sea. At the end of the dock is the restaurant. The train ride is about 10 min. The distance from Lysaker train station to the restaurant is about 10 minutes.
