I stayed for two weeks with some local Italians. We planned a combination vacation and work retreat. The house was wonderful to work at, there is a nice porch overlooking the olive orchard when the weather was nice, and when it got a little too hot (it was July) then we retreated inside into the basement kitchen/ guest living room. The family is very warm and friendly, and staying there was wonderful.
For vacation excursions we went into The Dolomites, a gorgeous mountain range that the house rests in the foothills of. Also, small cute towns are nearby. Asolo was a favorite. The closest "large" town, Bassano del Grappo, has lots of restaurants and bars. Plus a wonderful history.
We would definitely stay there again if we had the chance.
The breakfasts are fresh, tasty, and great. I have special dietary needs and they had no problems cooking for me.
The house itself is modern, with nice wood floors and accent furniture. The rooms are quiet, and the bathrooms are huge. The views from the rooms, breakfast area, and porch are fantastic. It's located in a very small town that has several restaurants within walking distance, and nice streets to jog or walk on. We used a car to go anywhere else. There is a huge supermarket 30 minutes away by car to load up on groceries.More
