“Lovely family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

We have just got home from a week in the stables at Bach Wen. We have had a fantastic time, very child and dog friendly. Helen and Johnny are brilliant hosts and make a really good roast dinner!! Our little boy and dog loved the freedom there with the lovely fields, meadows and kids play area.
We visited Caernarfon, Beddegelert, Betws-y-coed and Llanberis which are all within decent driving distance but I would highly recommend a trip to Greenwood forest park if you have children. It was a fantastic day out and doggy friendly too.
Helen and Johnny were also kind enough to let us leave our dog for a few hours in the cottage as he is an old man and was struggling with all the walking in the heat! He really did appreciate the few hours rest!
The only issue we had is the sky light in the bedroom doesn't have a blind so we were woken very early in the morning!
The cottage had all the facilities we needed and the beds were very comfortable. It was a very hot week but the stone walls of the cottage keep it very cool.
We will be returning!!

Room Tip: The Stables was the perfect size for 2 adults, a toddler and a dog

Beautiful, tranquil and extremely dog friendly. Helen and Jonny make you feel extremely welcome with excellent meals in the barn - including vegetarian. Our dogs ( all 3) loved the freedom to run in the fields and on the beach. Though after the 2nd day they were bored of chasing rabbits, they had seen so many!
The accommodation is extremely clean and very comfortable. It is also close to many attractions and other beaches by car. We can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip: Free Wifi in The Barn area. 8 Various size cottages to suit different size families

Me and my boyfriend stopped here as a treat my my 30th birthday- what can i say? The place was amazing.

It was a little slice of heaven and does deserve all the good press it can get. Sea views, privacy, helpful staff, good prices, cleanliness...It was perfect.

The accommodation was so nice- clean, tidy, brilliant views, romantic.

Will definitely be returning!!

We had a wonderful stay in the Bakery cottage, waking up each morning to the horses gambling around the paddock outside our bedroom window. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay including a lovely wood burning fire for those cold days in winter (we didn't need it!). The views are stunning and the beach is a walkers paradise as it goes on forever. Lots of places to visit in the area and some good pubs to eat in. The Barn is a gorgeous spot to lay back on a sofa in front of the fire and the drinks are very reasonably priced. Thank you Helen and Johnny for being wonderful hosts and making our stay so enjoyable. We've already booked (don't forget Johnny) our cottage for next year!

We have just returned from a week in Chapel Cottage with my parents and dog, what a stunning location, well equipped and very warm comfortable cottage. Our dog loved the paddock and beach, he would have quite happily stayed there all day. Early morning walks on the beach and paddock a must. Close to many attractions and beautiful beaches. The Barn a welcome retreat after a busy days walking and the drinks are very reasonably priced, Helen and Johnny the perfect hosts. Speaking to fellow guest Johnny and Helen have made vast improvements in the 14 months they have been there. What more can I say we will be back with more family members!

This was a very enjoyable weeks stay, the cottage was basic but welcoming we stayed in Brochwel which is best if you have dogs as it has the biggest and safest garden.
The surrounding area is beautiful and my dogs loved the paddock to run in and the beach even though it has no sand it is still wonderful, they loved seeing the rabbits run luckily they didn't catch any!
The surrounding towns and beaches are also lovely especially Trefor and Llanbedrog these are great to let your dog run free on as very secluded and quite.
All in all I would highly recommend and would definitely stay again the only recommendations I would make would be to include a booklet in the cottages with useful info in for instance local supermarkets, good walks, points of interest, local food spots etc and also that the Barn may in future serve food as for us personally although it is dog friendly we do not drink so we didn't use it but would have if it would have served food as there is no local take aways etc nearby.
But all in all a brilliant holiday will be returning next year.

Room Tip: Bochwel if you have dogs and need a large safe garden

We stayed in the chapel & took 5 dogs. The living room was nice and big (enough for the dogs), bedrooms were lovely, nice kitchen & utility room. It was an added bonus to have to extra w/c.
The whole cottage was perfect, if I had to change anything, it would be to have a tumble drier. I would love to come back in the winter, as it is situated in a beautiful place that would be fab in all seasons.
A big recommendation from me.
