“Very Adequate Place to Stay”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

This review is one of the more difficult ones for me to write. I like Rolles Court - we stayed there twice, going to and coming from our ultimate vacation destination in Wales. On the first day we showed up a bit early, which was an inconvenience for them. On the last day we showed up a bit late, which was also an inconvenience. We also have three small children, and this particular B&B is designed, like many B&Bs, so that noise carries and can potentially disturb other guests. Due to these reasons, and to the fact that the advertised pool was contaminated with ant poison at the time of our arrival, my appraisal of this place is a bit tepid. However, if I were to stay a night in Dover again I would very probably stay again with them. The place was very clean, a very peaceful location (not too far out of the way, though a trifle difficult to find), the breakfast was spot on, and they sell some delicious homemade apple juice as well. Also, you really cannot beat the price. All in all, recommendable - just ensure you show up at the right time, and keep the kiddos quiet.

Room Tip: Show up on time.

We have stayed with Ian and Jill before, (our Daughters wedding a couple of years ago, along with all our family who were delighted with their accommodation), so it was a no brainer to go back.
As always the room was impeccable, the food superb and the hospitality second to none....Without doubt this place is one of the best hotel/B&Bs we have we’ve ever stayed in......want a great place to stay whilst in Dover area? Well stay at the Rolles, you wont regret it!

Room Tip: All the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, all are of equal quality.

Stayed at Rolles Court for one night on a business trip to Whitfield, and felt that I had arrived on holiday. A vey warm welcome and absolutely lovely room, with huge en-suite which was spotless. Lovely fluffy towels and toiletries provided. I needed to breakfast early and it was arranged is a lovely friendly way and proved more than ample. Thanks Rolles Court, definitely staying again when I next come down to Dover

Stayed here for a night in August and booked the family room. It was spotless and very spacious. Its a great location about 5 minutes north of Dover so really convenient for both ferries and Channel Tunnel (20 mins). Jill and Ian were really welcoming and cooked us an excellent breakfast. Jill had even made muffins and her own jam. Lovely quiet location until my two boys discovered the pool!!! Would recommend this both for families as well as couples or single travellers.

Our overnight stay was perfect - the room was very spacious, comfortable, clean and homely, the location was peaceful, and Ian and Jill were great hosts. Breakfast was a particular highlight - a fantastic full English with good coffee, delicious locally made apple juice, and followed by homemade white chocolate and banana muffins. A real treat! We were given good local recommendations by Ian, and when the owners found out we were on honeymoon, leaving for Europe in the morning, they appeared with a bottle of bubbly and a greetings card!

We stayed here on 24th august for one night in a family room, myself, other half, and two daughters.
First off, we requested an early check in and they obliged.
We got to hotel and were greeted by Jill and Ian. Ian who is very knowledgeable of the local area (and knows where the kid friendly pubs are) showed us to the "brown" room, this is massive, two full size single beds and a double bed and there was still room to swing more than one cat at the same time.
Room was very clean and well presented.
On our return that night, Jill was sorting out a cat fight that was going on in the kitchen, my kids loved it.
After a really good nights sleep, breakfast was plentiful and home made muffins and jams etc were lovely, full English was lovely too.
We requested a late check out and this was ok too.

Would we stay here again? Yes we would, and probably will.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's good to know what people remember from their stay, apart from cats fighting!

We always do our best to assist guests who require early arrivals and late departures but sometimes it just isn't possible.

We pride ourselves on our breakfasts and like to offer a selection to suit all the family.

We stopped over here before our early morning ferry in July. We had the family room which was very clean and spacious for our family of 4, it was a very warm evening but the room was cool and we all managed to sleep well. The owner was extremely hospitable and made us feel welcome, recommending somewhere to eat in the evening. The children enjoyed running around the gardens, we didn't get chance to sample the pool due to time constraints. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again, very reasonably priced.

Thanks for reviewing Rolles Court. It's in a very quiet location so is ideal for a good night's sleep when you've got an early ferry. When the weather permits the garden is perfect for tiring over excited children. Maybe on a future visit you'll have more time to venture into the pool.
