We have been to Ravensbourne Forest Chalets about 7 times in as many years! It is our favourite place on earth. Irene and Wes are always so friendly and kind and welcoming, its just like coming home! Everything is always meticulously set up, from the bubble bath at the spa bath, the flowers on the table, firewood stacked up ready, to electric blankets on the beds this winter! The birds are bold enough to come quite close on the balcony as you sit there, and their song is the single best thing to wake up to! No matter which cabin you choose, you always have privacy from the others, a sheltered balcony with your own private, breathtakingly serene view. It is so quiet and peaceful, no phones, no internet, no TV signal, to distract you from enjoying yourself and your partner's company! Irene and Wes have a great video library though, and it is so lovely to snuggle up by the fire and watch movies on the couch. We BBQ every night, and cooking takes on much more appeal when you can do it looking out into the beautiful night sky. But if you want to cook in the kitchen, everything you need is there. The spa bath is delicious to spend an hour (or more) in, and even the view from the bath is wonderful! And the best part? You never run out of hot water! The bed is always far too comfy, with a romantic canopy and the softest linens.
There is access to the beautiful creek, and there's a picnic area, and a pergola and BBQ by the water if you feel like venturing out of the cabin! Often you can see kangaroos around the place, and last time we even met a cute little bush turkey!!
There are so many interesting places to see around the area, if you can drag yourself away from the cabin!
Whenever we need to recharge, and just relax and unwind together, we come here. Each time we visit, we fall in love all over again. We couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Room Tip: We've stayed in almost all the cabins over our various trips to Ravensbourne, but our last two s...

We stayed in a queen chalet in June & certainly weren't disappointed. The chalet was gorgeous. It was very spacious and romantic, we adored the spa bath and beautiful wooden furniture. Our hosts had thought of everything and the facilities were well appointed. We felt that this was particularly good value for money, as we are on a tight budget but felt very indulged and as though we had not scrimped. We particularly liked the balcony which oversaw the rainforest, it was very relaxing to have one's breakfast amongst the trees and forest birds. We only live an hour and a half away and couldn't believe we hadn't really explored this part of the world before. There is much to do in Ravensbourne and our romantic long weekend away did not feel like enough time to spend ion such a lovely place. We would definitely recommend our stay here.

Room Tip: The Queen chalets are huge, we certainly weren't disappointed!

We spent 3 nights in our cosy chalet (Cosy once the log fire is in full swing!). The chalets are exactly as shown on the web site, wood panelled, high ceilings, canopied bed & spa bath. Arriving on a cold, wet winters afternoon, we had a warm greeting from Irene (co owner) who gave us the rundown on the property. As there is no wifi or mobile phone coverage, there is a selection of DVD's to while away the evenings. Whist the quiet is welcome, I do wonder how you would contact anyone in case of emergency, as there is no means of communication to the office or outside world. Our drives took us to Toowoomba & Crows Nest, we decided this accommodation was the better option.

Lovely cabins that are very well furnished and equipped. Extremely comfortable. Loved the wood burning stove for the chilly evenings as well as the spa tub. Everything so clean. They have thought of everything one might need in the kitchen. Great BBQ on the deck. So quiet and peaceful. Good breakfast hamper as well. Would not bother with dinner hamper as there is great pub food nearby. Hosts were very gracious and helpful. Would highly recommend for a get away weekend or anytime. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and ended up extending to 3 as we were so relaxed and did not want to leave.
