Perfect Holiday Retreat

This was our third holiday property in Elie in the last 18 months and our favorite so far. New Haven has all the modern amenities you could wish for for a holiday break and all the extras we like such as wi-fi and a big garden for Murphy our golden retriever to bound around in. The living room is super cosy and we hope to make use of the sun room when we return next year! It is literally a 60 second walk to the Station Buffet Bar for a relaxing drink and a mammoth 5 minute downhill stroll to the beach or the Ship Inn for a quality meal where Murphy was made very welcome. Elie Deli is also a 2 min stroll away where you can book all kinds of warm pastries for collection!

We will definitely be returning to New Haven!!

Absolutely perfect

We stayed here during a blissfully sunny week in June. The email contact with the owners when enquiring and booking was friendly, helpful and on the ball. The house and garden was as shown on the web photos - beautifully kept and furnished, spotless in its entirety and an absolute pleasure to wake up to every morning! We all had a great time from grandma to toddler. Nothing has been left out by the owners, there is everything you could need in the kitchen for cooking and dining, every comfort in the sitting room - comfy seating and Sky tv, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were so clean and spacious with fluffy white towels and crisp white bedding.. The Sun Room had a lovely outlook to the garden and meant more seating options away from the TV if wanted if stuck in during the evenings (with toddlers, like us!). There are plenty books in the property to peruse too. Id imagine it would be really cosy in winter too with the central heating and gasflame effect fire in the sitting room. Wi-fi a great bonus for looking for things to do if you've come with an i-pad or the likes and an unplanned schedule. Ive been coming to the East Neuk nearly every year for 45 years and dont remember having stayed at such a lovely property. The large garden is great for kids to potter around in and for adults to enjoy. We had meals outside thanks to the good weather but there are plenty places to eat out between Elie, Pittenweem and Anstruther as well as St Andrews and futher afield. With the weather being so good we spent most afternoons down at Elie beach, just along the road. Would recommend New Haven 100% and we were sorry to leave!

If you dont know the area - Elie beach can't be beaten for space, tranquillity, cleanliness and beauty and the best beach around i'd say. The Pavilion up at the golf course is good for ice-creams and takeaway coffes and cold drinks and an easy wander up from the beach. Try the Carnie Fruit Farm for a day trip if you have young kids, and the Cheese Farm cafe for amazing home bakes and great soup. Not hailing from the seaside i'm a sucker for a good fish supper and the Anstruther chippie is still the place to go, worth the queue (the whitebait is a nice extra!). Too many other nice places to mention really!
The Farm shop on the road between Elie and St Monans is lovely. Theres a new Sainsburys in Leven for supplies if you get sick of the Co-op and the St Andrews Morrisons/Tesco!

Lovely House, Beautiful Garden, Great Place

Really lovely house, tastefully furnished, warm with comfortable beds and cozy living room. A lot more than your usual holiday house with everything provided with Sky+ a real bonus when weather wasnt great. The garden is stunning and in warmer weather with a BBQ, you wouldnt leave the front door. Very convenient for the beach (about 200 yards), Ruby Bay, The Ship, Ellie Deli, the Newsagents and bakery. Dont forget the Station Bar which is friendly with a good pool table. Extremely handy for all the beautiful coastal villages and St Andrews. For those with Children (2-10) dont miss Carnie Fruit farm outside Cupar.
Owner very accessible and couldnt be more helpful or accommodating.

Well located and comfortable house, perfect for exploring Fife

This is a comfortable and well furnished house with three excellent bedrooms, and lots of space downstairs. Only one bathroom, but it's huge with a separate shower cubicle (very good shower!). Separate downstairs loo. A charming garden with sunny sitting area close to the house and a lovely woodland area at the far end. Right in the middle of Elie, close to beach, shops and golf course, and well situated for exploring all of the local area, as well as walking the coastal path. The Ship Inn and Golf Tavern are quality local pubs with excellent food, Sangsters Restaurant worth a visit but you need to book (and turn up on time). Local shops in High Street have everything you need, and there is a good farm shop one mile out of town towards Pittenweem.
