We stayed in November 2013 for our second time at Manuia and second time in the Cooks. On our first journey we had joked about how nice it would be to fly here just the two of us and get married, so after getting engaged we decided to do just that. We couldn't have made a better choice. The resort itself had had a complete facelift from when we first stayed in 2012 and wow what a job they have done. It is an incredible piece of paradise with large clean rooms, amazing outdoor showers, brilliant pool which we made use of everyday, fantastic beach with the best sunsets you could wish for. Also the restaurant onsite is great with excellent breakfasts and an awesome Island night run by Kura. We stayed 11 nights and could have easily stayed longer as Rarotonga is that friendly, slow paced and relaxed. Highly recommend Manuia, their staff and management who made our wedding on the beach in paradise stress free. Will most certainly be coming back!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but if you can afford it go for a beach front as you have the view of the su...

I was very skeptical about Rarotonga when we landed. It looked like a third world country with no highways, no buildings. But what we learned about Raro, as the locals call it, is that it is as well developed as any large city in the States. Everyone is up on Technology, Fashion, etc. They are just on a different system than elsewhere. You learn to appreciate that this part of the South Pacific is still untamed and on Island time. The people are very welcoming and helpful. Our first week in the Cook Islands started with Manuia Beach Resort. My first impression wasn't favorable until we were led to our room through a well groomed beautiful garden on a sandy path. The many Mango trees and flowering plants provided shade and a beautiful fragrance. Our room was clean and spacious with an incredible outside shower that provided large walls from anyone with peeping eyes. Every room had a large porch with adirondacks loungers for your leisure time. You were just steps away from the incredible beach, the Infinity pool and a sand floored restaurant. Breakfast is included with your stay which serves plenty of island fruit and juices and the best pancakes I have ever eaten. They do have a menu if you choose to have a traditional breakfast. But what a great way to start the day with toast, fruit, pancakes and coffee. Try the hotel lunch and dinner menu too, Delicious! Snorkeling is great right at the hotel but try different places along the beach. Evening walks can take you to different hotels that offers a different menu and they are all connected to make paying your bill easy. Also, each hotel offers a full buffet dinner on almost everynight of the week and some with live entertainment. The staff is incredible too. They can help you with just about anything! Even your flights! Make sure you sign up early for a traditional luau in the hills, tickets sell out fast! And last but not least, get to know the resort manager, Alex Root-Reed. He can help you with things to do while in Raro, including transportation and where to buy the best Black Pearls. Also ask him about the weekend flea market, a must see and do while in Raro. We plan on returning to this resort, its a great value and a fun place to stay!

Room Tip: All the rooms have their own charm and all are close to the beach.

We stayed at Manuia for a week in last February on the advise of friends. What a treat, beachside restuarant, infinity pool awesome hammocks and loungers. The minute you walked out of your unit the sand was between your toes you couldn't help but feel relaxed. The outdoor shower was such a cool experience, our room was serviced daily and you only had to ask and fresh towels were given when ever. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful with advise. Scooter hire just across the road and plenty of off street parking once youve picked your bike up. So much fun can be had hooning around the island visiting other swimming spots and restuarants. No rush, no bussle, no kids just a great restort to relax in.and take time out.We will return to Raro and definately to Manuia.

I stayed at the Manuia for just under a week, on a business trip.
The accommodation was simple, but clean and comfortable. The size and layout of the resort meant a very peacful stay - something that is sorely lacking in some of the other Raro hotels!
The service was great and we were made to feel very welcome.
The only thing that didn't suit was that breakfast didn't begin until 9am - so if there for business and required to start work at 9, you have to source your brekkie elsewhere!
Other than that, I loved my stay and would happily return.

We spent out last 3 nights on Raro at Manuia and didn't want to leave when our last night arrived.

The resort itself is what made us decide to stay here. In the main area it has a "right on the beach" restaurant/bar, infinity pool, hammocks, sun loungers and a large deck with chairs and cushions. It was just amazing to spend some time in this area and esp around sunset where you can have happy hour cocktails.

We stayed in Villa 11 and this was just back from the Beachfront Villas but didn't really make a difference since we could still see the water and rarely spent time in our room. The villas itself are very well kept, spacious and had everything you need. The outdoor shower was great too.

I would def come back and enjoyed my time at the Manuia Resort.

After reading such great reviews we were disappointed with our stay. 2/6 nights we stayed housekeeping 'forgot' to service our room. We returned snorkelling gear 3 times as they were broken & they aren't sanitised as advised on the website.. Handed to you full of sand. Front office recept was terrible, either eating at desk, taking ph calls whilst your talking and upon check out she took 3 calls & left once.. + billed us for another rooms food. Flip side was food was good, wait staff friendly... But no real ambience at night, everything closed at 8pm we were told due to low season... Resort is well refurbed, very quite. But don't hold your breathe for great service.
